Galadim Hand Shears for Gardening or Sheep Shearing - Manganese Stainless Steel Topiary/Hedge Scissors for Pruning GD-010-I

Much better than I had hoped for, given the price. This tool is heavy - because the blades are made of thick steel. The blades - all but the very cutting edges - are protected against corrosion by some sort of coating (paint,"chemical "bluing"?). It arrives very sharp. I bought these shears specifically for reaching down around crowded plants to trim off dead leaves at the bases of plants. The unusually long and tapered blades do that exceedingly well. And, I especially like that the handles do not spread wide to open the ends of the blades , say, an inch or so. These will reside in my greenhouse.The handles are not solid metal (nor plastic!). They are made of heavy sheet metal formed to shape and riveted to the blades. Normally, I would consider such construction to be second-rate. HOWEVER, in this case the handles are solid and I cannot see an instance whereby I would exert sufficient force to bend/damage the handles. Besides, solid metal handles would make this tool 'way too heavy.I may buy a second pair of these shears just to have them on hand in case they become unavailable in the future and I decide I need a second pair for general household use.October 28, 2022:Still love 'em and just attempted to buy another - but, they are not available at this time. Will continue to check.

Nicely designed because with no thumb hole, you can maneuver it easier. Longer blades than a scissors. Nice and sharp.

Nice precision tool. Excellent for getting down to trim up my desert thorny plants.
