Perfect Beach Sand Sock
This is the perfect sand/beach sock. Purchased to use for three 6 week seasons of sand volley ball this summer. We had our final game last week and they are still like new. I wear a size 71/2 or 8 woman’s shoes and the small size was a great fit. Wore them two or three times a week for hours at a time since May and they are still holding up well. I will be able to use them at the beach this winter to keep my feet warm. It did take a few wears to get used to the feel of walking on sand and not “feeling” it. But after the second wear, I completely forgot I had them on. A few things to mention: These socks will NOT keep sand out, but they greatly reduce it. Only a bit of fine particles get inside if you have the Velcro closed correctly around your ankle. They are also NOT meant for wear on concrete or asphalt. I used mine strictly for sand and had sandals ready to use when heading back to my bike or the car. The top of the shock is Lycra material and the sole is a neoprene on the bottom is not thick, and not like a sturdy sole. It’s just thick enough to prevent little sticks or bits of sharp “pokey things” from getting to the soles of your feet or the hot sand from scorching if the sand is hot. Also, there are seams, which didn’t bother me at all and I have pretty sensitive feet, but if seams freak you out you may want to search for a dog product. I would not recommend these for use at the water park or other places where you’ll be walking around on hard surfaces unless you plan on tossing them at the end of the day because they will get holes fast. On sand, if used cautiously, they will last a long time. Overall a great purchase and I’ll be getting new ones to replace these if/when these wear out. Pro Care Tip: Avoid washing machine and hand washes them for best care of fabric. Hang dry. So far it’s kept mine looking tip-top!Photos: On foot - day of arrival try-on , both socks inside out (after months of wear) , both socks outside (after months of wear).

Keeps the sand out!
I am so happy with these socks - they work as promised and true to size. Unlike water shoes, these keep the sand out and do not feel floppy or cumbersome when walking though the sand or in the water. The socks are made from swimsuit material and slip on easily and velcro fastens at the tops. They hug my feet like a normal sock and doesn't slip down much at all. The padded neoprene soles are flexible and seams appear to be sewn well. They worked especially good at the lake where I easily walked in and out of the water while every one else was hobbling around over unstable pebbles. They provide some insulation from cold water, making walking on the beach with frigid water running over my feet much more tolerable. Now I don't have to worry about applying sunscreen to my feet and then sand sticking all over them...if you've never had the tops of your toes sunburned, its the worst! I haven't used them a lot but they are still holding up nicely. I would not recommend them as a replacement or alternative to shoes however, they probably won't hold up very long that way.

Good for the dunes
We bought three pairs of these in preparation for a trip to Great Sand Dunes and White Sands Nation Parks. These worked pretty good. Minimal sand in the sock and protected from the heat. Also bought gaiters and everyone preferred these. Negatives- They do smell of chemicals even after laundering twice and they take a good while to air dry.

Surprisingly great for my big feet
After scouring through Amazon for hours (no joke), I selected these. It seems like the others ones, despite having sizes like "3XL" are still not large enough for my slightly-wider size 13 (mens) feet. I got these because I just had a little unplanned surgery on my foot just before heading to the Caribbean and did not want to get sand in the area. It was fine to get it submerged--but I needed it to be free of sand. When I received it and tried it on, I was impressed that the largest size here could actually contain my high-volume foot AND it was easy to put on and around the wound. After snorkeling along the shore for hours, it did not let any sand in and it was comfortable. It also seemed to hold up very well to walking on rough and rocky shores--but don't think it cushions anything--you'll feel every rock edge, but at least it won't cut a hole in it.

Worked well for about two months.
I used these for two months playing in a recreational sand volleyball league and they worked great for a while. However around the third week I noticed a small hole in the sole under the toes and sand started to creep in. Then another three weeks later the other sock goes and now they are both out of use now two months later. They work well to keep sand out and are comfortable but they just didn’t hold up like I would’ve liked.

Great for walking on hot sand and in the surf to shell
We went to Sanibel for vacation again this year. In past years we have tried any number of shoe options because the said can get hot and the shells hurt your feet when you are walking on them. All of our past water shoes meant we were constantly shaking the sand out or having to stop and take them off. These worked great because they protected the bottom of our feet without the sand getting in. An added bonus is that they are soft sole so you could feel the shells and know when you were feeling bigger ones without cutting your feet. The only minus is that if you have large calves like me they don't really work well. However, that isn't their fault, I need to drop some pounds!! :) All in all a good thing to have when walking in the surf and shelling.

Perfect for those with achilles tendon pain!
I have psoriatic arthritis / achilles enthesitis, and wearing a typical water shoe was extremely painful due to where the heel of the shoe would put pressure on my achilles tendon. This year I decided to give this type of water shoe a try, and though it is more of a water sock, it was perfect! I wore these every day to the beach for my two week stay and they kept the sand out, were comfortable to swim, and walk and best of all they did not put pressure or hurt my achilles tendon! Would definitely recommend for those suffering with achilles tendon pain!

Not long lasting
My daughter wore these out in one tournament weekend. The fit was great, she only wore them in the grass and the sand, holes in the bottom by the beginning of the second day and she had to take them off.

worked well but still got sand in and felt like the soles would not hold up to walking down ...
worked well but still got sand in and felt like the soles would not hold up to walking down the the beach. Just used them on the beach and while snorkeling. Did prevent the jellyfish swarm from stinging my ankles..
