T56F1 , HOUR METER, VIBRATION ACTIVATED, WATERPROOF, RECT SURF MT, 8 YR BATTERY

I purchased this in a attempt to track my HVAC blower run time in an effort to predict filter changes based on hours run as opposed to a calendar. Part arrived as scheduled without any instruction for guidance as how best install it for proper function. That said I tried several locations that had vibration in which case the counter would start but then quit. I have to assume a higher vibration amplitude is needed. Most residential HVAC's will not vibrate like commercial units or internal combustion engines. I guess my application is not correct for this device. Anyhow learn from my experience.Update 6/1 - After several days (5) I was able to install the device so it would detect and count run time on my HVAC blower. First I felt around the HVAC housing to locate a area that had the greatest vibration. Using one fine thread sheet metal screw I dangled the device loosely from one mounting holes. After cutting the wire I heat shrunk the ends together as well. Make certain the device contacts the housing. The HVAC is a 95.5% Bryant 60K BTU unit @ 2 years old. They don't vibrate a whole lot.
