I've never had any Sabichi goods before but assumed they were a fairly good make so I ordered this cutlery set based on that assumption and because it was reasonably priced. When my set arrived I was disappointed. Some of the pieces have quite rough edges (mainly the forks) and the design is NOT a bead design - it's just little lines all the way around the sides.I've discovered that good quality stainless steel cutlery should be of 18.0 (or 18/10) grade and,nowhere on the box this set comes in does it say that the stainless steel is either of those grades. When I first saw the set I was disappointed that the stainless steel looked a bit dull and not particularly shiny but, on closer inspection of all the pieces, some of the cutlery IS quite nice and shiny. Also, some of the pices are actually heavier weight than I had first thought - the spoons mainly. The knives though, strangely, seem to be lighter weight and look cheaper than the other pieces.Overall, for the price, this set is not as bad as I initially thought it was. It's mainly let down by the rough edges of the forks and the knives being lighter weight than the spoons. For me, the forks are pretty much unusable for eating but they could be kept perhaps just for cooking purposes (for mixing batter for pancakes perhaps!).
