The media could not be loaded.  Was looking forward to this product but immediately returning it for a full refund!It seemed promising from all the reviews but I was FOOLED!.... THE wood was cracked and split and the actual Plastic Rods were extremely loose making this NOT SAFE OR SECURE! CHEAP GENERIC PRODUCT!!! FIND ANOTHER ONE PASS ON THIS!! NOT WORTH IT

I needed a knife block that would accommodate my new 7 inch Chinese cleaver, and this does the trick with style.This is a well made bamboo knife block with inserts that are removable and dishwasher safe. The side compartment are great for kitchen shears, etc and are attached by strong magnets. It's an ingenious design and I like it a lot. It came well-packaged and damage free. I really like it and have no hesitation in recommending the product.

I purchased this knife block a little over 6 months ago. I really love how versatile it is for all of our different knives; we previously had a full block of one brand plus about 5 miscellaneous knives that we had to store separately. I also really like the side compartments for storing scissors and other miscellaneous utensils.However, we have one knife we use every day several times a day, and the spot where we store it started getting mushed in after just a few months. I pulled out that insert and tried to straighten out the brushes, but they are pretty permanently bent (see photo). Now I do have to be careful when putting that knife back in and try to slide it from one edge to get it in, though the rest still slide in and out really smoothly.I was lucky that mine was not cracked and the brushes for holding the knives were not at all loose like some of the other reviews. I still like it in spite of its faults, but take it into consideration before you purchase.

My wife ordered this since the steak knives I ordered would not fit in or old one. She said, "..it is universal." I remarked, "...how in the world could it be universal?" Well...it is.lol It is an ingenious system that allows you to put knives in any order, angle or fashion you want. When they are not in place the filler (sort of like bristles) stay together and prevent crumbs, splatters or any other kitchen refuge from finding its way inside. You could store anything remotely like a knife in this block, like screwdrivers or similar shaped objects. You can rearrange items to you desired arrangement and turn them strait, sideways or even at an angle at will. If you get a new knife it will fit so you do not have to think about storage anymore. I am glad my wife bought this as I know have my favorite knives at hand all in one convenient location.

Love that I can fit almost any knife in this block regardless of size, and love the side utensil holders. Easy and quick access for knives, cooking spoons, spatulas, etc. without having to rummage through a kitchen drawer. The only design improvement I would have considered is a little more tilt forward to make very long knives more accessible underneath my cabinets. However, this is not a big issue and may actually be a plus as the more vertical stance seems to allow a little more counter space. Again, this is only a MINOR issue with my longest knives and no problem with most knives. Regardless of any minor complaints, I still give this product five stars for appearance, functionality, and versatility. Thus far, this has been the best knife block I've yet to have in my kitchen. There are other knife blocks on Amazon that use the same type of insert material for a universal knife fit, but I believe this one may be the best they have to offer. I did my research before ordering, and have only used it a few weeks thus far, but very happy with it as if this review. I've only had this knife block for a few weeks but have been very pleased with it so far. Haven't had to clean yet so only left no review stars for that, but five stars for everything else.

We bought this to replace an old Swoosh knife rack that we have had for years. The Evolve Knife Block is much nicer: The plastic rods that comprise the can be removed for cleaning and the rods are less compressed so that knives fit more easily into the block; the two side compartments are great for holding things kitchen scissors and/or tongs; and the steak knife compartment is a handy addition (we actually store 5-6 paring knives in this space). One negative surprise - in our kitchen the knife block must fit on a kitchen counter under a set of upper cabinets and the angle of the base cut was too shallow to allow the block (with knives in it) to fit under the cabinet. I had to add an angled block to the bottom of the base to increase the "tilt" so that the unit would fit under the cabinets. It is still a great product and we are very happy.
