Perfect fit, perfect function
I love this thing! It fits on a slotted vent blade just fine. I use the "extra tight" setting. I make sure it's sitting all the way in before I tighten the grip mechanism. The foam pads on the sides and back ensure a tight grip on my phone and I have no concerns that it would fall out.The release button in the back of not hard to reach though it is placed in the middle and if your phone (like mine) has a charge port right in the middle, the cord can get in the way a bit. Not really an issue since the only time I'm removing it from the holder is when the car is off... hence... no need to keep the charging cable plugged in.Speaking of the charging cord, I love that the bottom feet of the holder have a space specifically for charging ports! They're also very slim which leaves room for plugging in a headphone jack while it's still firmly gripped. This headphone jack could be used as the AUX connector in my car so I'm glad that I can plug/unplug it without having to remove it from the holder. This product was priced very cheap (it is exactly like the grey/black version, except this one is all black), even with the shipping charge it is cheaper than its grey/black cousin and it performs exactly the same. How do I know it's exactly the same in performance? Because I got one of each!EDIT: I wanted to add a note that I wrote on the other review (the grey/black version) since they're identical. One of the phones that I used on this holder has one of those pop-ups on the back and although this holder can be coerced into fitting in and gripping, it can be a struggle. Granted the pop-up was NOT placed in the center of the phone but off-set a third of the way from the bottom. The feet on the holder are not long enough to retain a phone that has a pop-up on the back. My solution was to actually put the pop-up resting on the feet of the holder and close the grips of the holder over the top half of the phone. A bit wonky but it works. The other phone I use is flat on the back (no pop-up) and it fits perfectly.

Just ok.
I bought this item after reading the reviews. This Beam Electronic car mount is fine except some time it automatically come out from the vent. Prongs that go into the vent and hold it are small. This is only thing that make this product is not as good as it should be. May be Beam Electronics will improve it.

High quality mount
This mount surprised me with its quality. The clamp used to attach the mount to the vent leaves a bit to be desired, as I can see where it will lose grip as time goes on, but for now, it works great. The best aspect of this is that it has a lever that tightens/loosens it. Unlike a lot of other mounts with the paperclip type jaw clamps, the lever actually gives you a lot of control over the clamp itself. The phone grip is operated by a button on the back which - instead of snapping open as many other grips do - opens slowly and smoothly. It holds my LG Stylo 4 with some room to spare, but it only takes a click or two and the grip is tight against the sides of the phone. I can also rotate the phone 360 degrees once it's in the grip so the screen can be displayed vertically or horizontally. This really exceeded my expectations and was a satisfying purchase considering it is exactly what I'm going to need while I'm on my road trip this week. I only rated the sturdiness 4 stars because I see the potential of the clamp breaking down over time, but if it actually holds up longer than a few months, that would really surprise me, so I'll come back to report as much.

Best Car Mount I've Bought So Far
I bought my first Beam over a month ago. I drive a Ford Escape, which has vertical slats or fins for its ventilator design (see photo). Most car mounts partially rely on the gravity assist of horizontal fins to keep them from sliding down. However, the beam's lock in place ventilator fin grip uses thin rubber foam pads to hold onto the vent fins and keep it stable.Still, due to the nature of vertical fins, the weight of a phone makes them wave back and forth as I drive, moving with every minor turn of the wheel. I used one of those plastic scented car sticks that also slide onto the vent fin as a stabilizer (see photo). That works perfect. As for the grip on my phone, a Samsung S10 encased in a phone protector, the Beam has thick rubber foam pads on its grips to hold my phone as well. A button in the back extends the spring controlled grips and you simply pull them together to tighten them around your phone. They lock in place by themselves.I'm pleased enough with the Beam car mount that I bought this second one for my wife.

Simple and Nearly Perfect
I love how simple this unit is. Personally, I did not want a magnetic unit, because HOW much effort are you really saving for the additional expense and having to purchase those inordinately expensive discs for the back of each phone? Aaanyway: this unit works well, easy to use, a cinch to install, and is pretty stable. I relied on Consumer Reports for guidance, and it did not steer me wrong! The only reason I gave it four stars is because I wish the clamp for the vents was a bit wider for more grip, but perhaps it needs to be the width it is for reasons I'm unaware.

Best phone holder EVER!!
This phone holder is the best!!! We had to start using it when the state switched to no text law a couple of years ago. I bought two for both of our cars and we STILL have them. You might have to re-adjust them to sit securely on the dash, but it will sit and not fall out. We just had to figure out which flap of the vent we needed to connect it to because my husband’s kept falling out st first. But, now it stays perfect!!!~ Follow me @teacherwholoves2match on Instagram for more beauty tips and fashion finds!

Fits phone nicely!
I used this to fit an Iphone nicely while driving. It adjusts perfectly and probably fits many different size phones as described. My biggest issue is it rattles quite loudly when the phone is not in it. I like installing something and leaving it but I need to remove it if I'm not using it. Overall it does what it said it would and is easy to pop the phone into and out of it. It holds very solidly and I would recommend it.

Absolutely Useless Always Drops Off So Annoyed Hate It Paid So Much
I took time to review and look at so many other phone holders and decided on the Beam to for my daughters Motorola G9 but it constantly kept falling off when we drove on country dirt roads. Big disappointment because it held well driving normally and considering the price I paid thought it would hold so much better but it didn't. Yes it had a protective case and that's why we chose that style to allow for that but the clip also didn't hold it into the air vent well enough so there were two problems. Can't return it either for a refund as its only days out of the time we could send it back. Otherwise its a nice phone holder just not for her phone. UPDATE. Daughter informs me I was wrong on it about the normal driving, I was with her yesterday and it does shake a lot on normal roads so I guess even on those its a bit too big an not suitable for a longer heavier phone like the Motorola G7 Plus with a protective case, which I have looked online for and had hoped to find one. As I mentioned, the Beam is a lovely phone holder for smaller phones but maybe the manufactures can come up with something larger that has some rubber absorption in it, not stick out so far or maybe have a second vent support and or bigger back for the longer phones that allow also for thick heavy duty protection carry cases. :) 2nd Update. Still looking for a replacement can't believe the high price I paid for it (A$37) - Beam come on contact me will you, what have you got new, martinant21 at hotmail.com
