It's time to dust off the rumpled trenchcoat one last time with five time Primetime Emmyยฎ winner Peter Falk as Police Lieutenant Columbo takes on some of his most deceptive mysteries yet, and asks all the right questions in his trademark offbeat style. Along for the final cases are a host of guest stars that include William Shatner (Star Trek), Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween), Kim Cattrall (Sex and the City), and Ed Begley, Jr. (St. Elsewhere). But though the 1970s landmark crime series comes to a captivating conclusion in the final two seasons of Columbo, you can always count on everyone's favorite police lieutenant to say, "Oh, there's just one more thingโฆ"]]>

Just One More Thing
By 1976 and 1977 it had become harder for this delightful series' producers to find the truly first-rate scripts that characterized the series' first three seasons (1971โ74). Indeed, the sixth season consisted of only three episodes, two of which were, shall we say, sub-par in invention and execution. In the seventh season both the murderers and the dogged lieutenant regained their footing with better scripts and some of the series' most charming guest villains, such as Ruth Gordon and Louis Jordan. As always, the two-hour shows were overly padded; the ninety-minute structure was ideal: 30 minutes for the set-up, 30 minutes for the probe, 30 minutes for the coup de grace. Thus, "Try and Catch Me," which could be well used to introduce any innocent to the style of the show and the incomparable Peter Falk.

Great classic mystery!
Season 6 & 7 shows a whole new side of this famous detective. Still the same tactics but a different approach and attitude.

what's not to love? Each episode reminds you that the detective is ...
Columbo . . . what's not to love? Each episode reminds you that the detective is sly in the most likable way. It's a joy to watch as he systematically builds his case against the villain who is always irritated by Columbo's persistent attention to detail.

Wonderful
Simply wonderful. The writers were geniuses, and Peter Falk is very appealing. Occasionally some points are hard to understand. I now own all the Columbo series and have watched most of them a second time with pleasure.
