Lonely Planet Italy 14 (Travel Guide)

We plan on having our honeymoon here. This book is so helpful and insightful! I’ve gotten these types of books before and they have never disappointed me. The information in this book is very useful and informative!

Book is nicely organized by regions and has a variety of information in re. to climate, lodgings, attractions, also includes a map.

The book is very thorough. It is over a thousand pages crammed with information. There is no attempt to organize your time or distinguish between quality or useless information. What surprised me most was even in a city like Rome they have only a hand full of accommodation recommendations. You could fill the entire book with Rome accommodations and not have exhausted those that are available.It is as if you know exactly where you want to go and all you need is a few details to confirm your plans. I don't think that I'm alone in that I need the research that the authors should have done to prepare their readers for the trip and save them the time of doing the research themselves. I am disappointed in the lack of the authors to make some value judgements to save the readers some travel time and money.The book is just a Wikipedia with nothing but details. There is no attempt to make your trip simpler, easier or more comfortable. The Lonely Planet map of Italy has more detailed information on planning itineraries than the book. It only cost $12.00. Save the difference.

Although my favorite is the Michelin Green guides, this product is an excellent accompaniment to Michelin when one is traveling. It contains loads of information, and tends to provide more information about a particular travel goal than Michelin. It is fun to read, and contains great picture. I travel with this item and a green Michelin guide.

Siempre compro las guias LP. Ésta me decepcionó: solo datos duros, las descrpciones son nimias, como si la hubieron hecho corriendo para llegar al dead line.

I would have given this book 5 stars as it is very good, but I ordered a new one and the one I received is clearly used.

Perhaps there is lots of good information, but its way to heavy and with tiny type too hard to read for a travel book. Really would prefer the basics in a small book

Ich bin ein großes Fans von Lonely planet und dieser Reiseführer ist sehr gut mit interessanten Tipps. Das Problem ist das ist sehr groß, also für eine Reise nicht so praktisch, und weil die ganze Italien ist manchmal könnte ein bisschen mehr Tipps für die kleine Regionen. Trotz sehr empfehlenswert

Yes, a very detailed book but too large to travel with and also text far too small.Make a coffee table version if needed but not for us retired folks!

Fast shipping and great book.

We used the guide to influence which take of the many northern lakes to stay at, and highlights of the region. Likewise it will point you in the right direction for an overall feel and experience. As ever, well put together, however for a more detailed view on certain areas we would recommend their regional guides.

Standard lonely planet-everything you’d expect if you’re familiar with then
