Totally Rocked
This movie was nonstop action and loads of fun to watch. All the actors were excellent and seemed to enjoy being part of this film. It was light, upbeat, and encouraging, including the song lyrics. I recommend to everyone. Was feeling a little down as I am recovering from knee surgery; this movie lifted me right out of my blues. Had a lot of wonderful messages. Thank you.🤗

Great New Year's Eve movie!
Great New Years movie. I own a DVD copy but wanted a digital copy. Sometimes when there are so many well known stars, there isn't much plot. This one, however, had three or four story lines going on related to the ball drop in Times Square. Written well enough that you didn't loose one story to follow another. Great movie, I like to watch it every year, sometimes more! Happy ending--oops spoiled it!

Best Movie I've seen in a Long time!
I loved this movie! During a summer sadly lacking in much substantial material (mostly action/ 'shoot em up' films this year), I was thrilled to find a conglomeration of great actors and actresses with heartwarming stories. The perfect fit when stress relief is called for- I laughed, and giggled, and shed a few tears, too (tears and laughter both being such healthy ways to unwind.)I loved all the sub plots, and the competition between the couples trying to win the first baby of the new year showed the silliness of human nature- with a twist at the end that backed up the speech Hilary Swank's character (from a different subplot) gave. I liked the tie in there. I loved how Sarah Jessica Parker learned that she was more than just a mother; she found balance between being there for her daughter, but learning to live again, herself. I also loved how Halle Berry's character brought poignancy to those who have to be separated during the holidays. (Sniffle.)I really enjoyed the twist involving Josh Duhamel's character and how the separated 'soul mates' find each other. Robert Dinero is excellent as always, with Katherine Heigle and her co-horts giving me some good laugh out loud moments. I also liked that there were snapshots of other well known actors and actresses. I do love a good ensemble cast. All in all, New Year's Eve was a wonderful movie experience. I say, keep the tissues near for the tender moments, but be ready for a good laugh to lighten the mood. And enjoy!

Auld Lang Syne in NYC
In my much younger days in high school and college, I used to think it would be cool to go to Times Square one New Year's Eve to watch the ball drop. Now that I'm middle-aged...not so much. Standing in the cold (and maybe rain or snow) for the better part of a day doesn't seem nearly as appealing now--watching the proceedings on television is just fine. The ball drop in New York City is known the world over, and the 2011 film "New Year's Eve" follows several individuals and couples in and near the Big Apple as they approach a new year. As you would expect in a movie like this, there is a great deal of symbolism--hope and second chances, birth and death, the old looking back and trying to come to terms with regrets from the past, and the young intently focused on the future. The cast is first-rate, with Robert De Niro, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, and many more big names--Ryan Seacrest and Michael Bloomberg even make cameo appearances. Even though this is a chick flick that definitely would not normally appeal to someone in my demographic, the stories are passable enough if New Year's Eve has always been one of your favorite holidays and you have always loved the ball drop--and the cinematography of Times Square as midnight approaches is also very well-done.

Zac Efron fan
Okay so I love it BUT-Some language to consider and adult content to watch out for, if the kids are going to watch. I have a Sr. in College that was in 9th grade when High School Musical came out. KId's now even love to watch Zac's movies, but unfortunately for my youngest son who is 8 and also likes his movies, well he is not able to enjoy them from here on out until he's much older and at his own discretion. I am a strong believer in the fact that God will continue to Bless you in acting as long as you remain in movies that are "in good taste", and Zac never has to even consider nudity, or anything inappropriate because he is so blessed and talented. Again, this movie makes the 5 star list in any case because it was well done all the way through. All actors were very good in their parts, and I am glad I own it. Well worth the cost on Amazon.

Solidly fun movie!
I loved "Valentine's Day." For those of you who don't know, this is the second in a series, with "Valentine's Day" as the first movie. However, I've got to say that this move was a step down from that, or at least a half star down from it. I'm not sure if I would give this 3 stars or 3.5 if I could, but the premise wasn't quite as fresh and the jokes not quite as strong as "Valentine's Day." If you haven't seen either, I suggest starting with that one. That being said, there are a few borderline hilarious moments in this movie, and the plot is nice and wholesome. It is definitely a fun movie, and I recommend it. It captures nicely the excitement of New Year's Eve, although like I said, it is a slightly weaker version of the same premise of "Valentine's Day."

Another All Star Cast Holiday Romp
New Year's Eve is a by the book romantic comedy brought to from the same team that made Valentine's Day. Instead of Los Angeles, the scene is NYC with the plot revolving around the traditional dropping of the ball in Times Square. Director Gary Marshall has assembled another all star cast (including a cameo by his sister Penny who delivers one of the funnier lines in the movie) who mug their way through a drippy plot. The appeal to act in this film by so many great actors like Robert DeNiro, Hillary Swank, Hallee Berry, Michelle Pfeiffer and the like must be the campy fun they must have had on the set (the closing credits with outtakes and bloopers is funnier than the actual movie). One example is Matthew Broderick making a brief appearance as a Mr. Bullerton (get it, haha) and hamming his way through his lines as a big muckety muck. The film could be worse and is a harmless way to spend two hours.

New Year's Eve celebrity fun filled viewing
I accidently rented this film twice, the second time I added it to my rental list unaware I had already seen it and normally I would have been a little disappointed that I wasn't seeing a new movie, but even when I realised what had happened I found myself enjoying it so much I didn't care.At it's heart this is a lovely feel good ensemble peice following the differing experiences of multiple New Yorkers as they approach the Ball Drop on New Years Eve. The intertwining plotlines are easily followed as we begin with Hilary Swank's city worker as she organises the evenings official entertainment as well as trying to fulfill personal obligations, Robert De Niro is a terminally ill patient with Halle Berry as his nurse, Lea Michelle and Ashton Kushner are neighbours stuck in lift, Sarah Jessica Parker is a mother trying to control her bored teenage daughter, Joshua Duhamel is man trying to get into the city for a date with destiny, Michelle Pfieffer is a undervalued PA leaving her job and going on a mad trip around town with Zack Efron, Katherine Heigl is a chef and Jon Bon Jovi plays her ex who just happens to playing at the event she is working, etcFor me the stand out here was watching Michelle Pfeiffer and Zack Efron, it was a really fun thread and their mad journey around town I think for most people would be a great way to spend New Years Eve. None of individual strands are very long so if one doesn't interest you it wouldn't matter because you'll soon be onto the next.A film that features so many high profile actors would usually make me wary of the quality of content, but happily I can say all the multi layered storylines complimented each other perfectly. This is not a deep micro examination of social discourse New York style, but a light well meant celebrity extravaganza of fleeting meetings on the years last day. This is a nice way to spend an hour or so and if I saw it in tv listings I would sit down and watch it again.

Making Memories with Music
My husband is in a nursing home, he has dementia at 73years old. He loves the music and because it’s a dvd he can also watch the audience enjoying themselves. Music has always meant so much to him and myself so it’s wonderful to see his reaction when I play this dvd.

Grabbed my attention
This was purchased for a present for my girlfriend. I had heard of the film however not been interested in watching it. My girlfriend started watching it, and i was somewhat paying attention to it in the background. Within 10 minutes i was hooked. The narrative of the movie is somewhat expected and you know what's coming next, however, this is an easy going movie and should be expected and takes nothing away from it.The movie is full of emotions and an all star cast and will not disappoint. I would highly recommend for family and couples to sit back, relax and get taken in.

A real feel good movie.
I purchased this for my niece having both seen the film at the cinema when it was first on show. She was delighted with this gift & loves, as I do, all the different stories within the film. A DVD that sums up the anticipation of a new start in a new year & at the same time letting go of the old, all put together beautifully with the characters within the film, some of whose lives are intertwined. One that will be watched again & again & not just at Christmas/New Year.
