The Secret Garden (Penguin Young Readers, Level 3)

For a very short retelling of a classic story it is indeed really good. Our 6 year old didn't want to put the book down, even though it was challenging for her reading level. I hope she will be able to enjoy full story couple of years later.Illustrations are beautiful, and the spirit of of the original story is there - the mystery, magic and the joy of discovery.

I was looking for a way to introduce my four year old grand daughter to some of my favorite children's classics when I came across this version of "The Secret Garden". It tells enough of the story to be accurate but it is not too long to lose interest. The illustrations are delightful. My grand daughter asks to have it read over and over. She even sits down and "reads" it herself. I love re-reading this classic story and also have the joy of watching her fall in love with my old favorite.The Secret Garden (All Aboard Reading)

Good Read for Grandchildren and me.

Such a great way to Introduce a classic to a beginner reader!

My son loves this book. I change all references to dying to say leaving or left as my son is only 3 and I worry it might be scary for him to think of a girls parents dying. Other than that I am able to read it mostly as it is and he loves the idea of a garden that is a secret and of the kids getting happy and healthy. He asks for it a lot and also seems to enjoy the artwork. I like that it is a story I already like and that I don't mind reading over and over.

I gave this book 5 stars because it is a classic tale that I loved as a child and am excited to have my girls r.ead it as well. Also, the price was right and it shipped really fast

I bought this book as a gift for my grandaughter (age 8), as it was a favorite of mine and thought she would like it. She read the whole book in one day, then the next day picked it up again and read it aloud to her dad. It is now a favorite of hers as well. I am so pleased.
