NIXSYS 1.44 MB Internal Floppy Drive

If I could give zero stars, I would. I realize I'm dealing with old tech, but the darn thing wouldn't work from minute one. Read write error and no go. Problem is, I missed my window to return the damned thing, so now I'm stuck with it. Do yourself a favor and buy one used somewhere.

Another case of what appears to be a refurbished drive being sold as new. Outside shell is new, insides are used. At least this drive was in better shape than Nippon Labs or Bytecc drives I've received. It worked fine, just needed a little cleanup on the inside.

Dead on arrival.

Came on time, and was grateful to find it and worked the way it was supposed to.

As previous reviewers have noted, this drive has old internals in a new case with a new faceplate. Mine was pretty clean and (mostly) free of dust, but looking at the circuitboard manufacturing it was clear that the mechanism may have been made as much as 20 years ago. There isn't really much other choice today, though - nobody actually manufactures full-height internal 3.5" floppy drives anymore, although you can still get new USB floppies new.

Good quality product...for a floppy good.
