Gluten Free Mixed Case of Bread Mixes (4) & Cake Mix (1) by The Box Bakery

I have been coeliac for many years and I am always interested in trying new gluten free products. This was a good idea and very easy to use. Simply add water to the mix, in the box provided, and put it in the oven. Couldn't be easier! However I found the bread very solid indeed. This meant, of course, that it was easy to slice and this was a definite advantage. Toasted, the bread made nice crisp toast and it tasted quite nice with butter and jam. However, it was so heavy that I did not enjoy it untoasted. I have only tried the bread so far and have still to try the chocolate cake. Maybe this will be lighter than the bread and if it is I will come back and update this review. This pack is also very expensive and you are actually paying more for this bread, which you have to make yourself, than you would for ready made bread! These days good gluten free bread is readily available so I am not sure I can be bothered making this bread, even if the process is straight forward. At the moment I don't feel that I would buy this pack again.

Although a bit on the pricey side, they really couldn't make baking any easier. I brought these for my partner who is gluten free.We normally have to go out of our way to find a store that sells a decent GF bread (we like the Warburtons if you're after a recommendation).So I got these as a back up in case we don't have time to shop. They really are as easy as adding some water and mixing it in. We have a gas oven so you have to let it rise for a while at room temp before baking. It really does rise well though! It also takes a long time in the oven on high, which I was skeptical about, but trust the instructions! First time worked out perfect!It cooked with a delicious crisp golden crust, and a super fluffy inside. We had it hot with soup. It's the nicest GF bread I've ever tried.Even the cake mix was delicious and stayed moist. We had it with a scoop of ice cream.Will probably buy again!

The gluten free bread was delicious particularly toasted. Has quite a crunchy crust and tasted like proper bread. Very easy to make providing you follow instructions properly and mix dry ingredients well. Chocolate cake was a tasty dense loaf and even more decadent when I added a fudge icing!
