I have 8 x 15 ft 2500 gal pond with many large koi's. I feed them a lot and as a result lots of fish poops. When I realize that the water gets murky green just within 5-7 days after I last cleaned the filter, I knew that I have crossed the capacity of my mechanical and biological filter system.So, I decided to up size my capacity by using paint strainer bag (from Lowes) to trap most of the fish poop solid from my bottom drain, add black matala filter media to filter any solid that may have slipped out. Then add 2 cu.ft of K3 filtering media. I also add two air bubble lines under the filter media bags.The most important part is to use the right type of microbe to handle the real workload. Having used Microbe LIFT product during the past winter with a very impressive result, I decided to give it a try for this one during the Spring - Fall this year.I followed the instruction on the side of the bottle. In my case, I put 24 oz. for the first week. Like most feedback, the water looked brown-ish for the first 2-3 days then it would be clearer but not crystal clear as I would like it to be. I did the follow up each week with 6 oz..It has been 10 weeks since I started and . . . ta..da . .the water is very clear. I mean, I have not changed my feeding pattern. But the water is very clear. I even stopped the weekly follow up since week 6 and the water stay very clear. More important is that the microbe takes care of the solid traped in the strainer bag as well. I notice that I don't have to do weekly filter cleaning any more but may be monthly (or even 6 weeks period).My water testing has indicated that reached an ideal and stable state, i.e., pH7.4 with zero nitrate and zero ammonia. It's been like this since week 7. You can imagine how happy the fish will be. Certainly, for me, I am very very pleased.I also drop 3 oz. in my 10 gal. ceramic water Lilly pot. It does help water quality there as well. I started water Lilly pots a little late (early June) bought it from Lowes and put them in the water. Put them out where they will be in the sun for 3-4 hours then light shades for 4-5 hours. No added fertilizer or anything else but these little microbes to take care of any leaves that fall into the pot. Well, 5 weeks later I get a beautiful flower.

Our pond was absolutely green and we could not see a single fish. We have a 15 x 20 foot pond with a 20 long water wall and a waterfall with a 25 foot stream. I decided to try the Microbe Lift. Even though we have a very large pond we did not need to use a large amount of the Microbe Lift.We had to use it for about 6 weeks. Once the Microbe-Lift started working the water became crystal clear. All of the green algae disappeared. My husband thinks that it may have taken awhile for the Microbe-Lift to work due to the high temperature of the water. He also had failed to change our filters so of course, the Microbe-Lift would not work until the water was properly filtered.It does have a very strong odor. However, it did not harm our fish or plants. We could finally see that we had about 20 new very tiny baby fish. So if you are patient I think that the product will work well for your pond.

I have never written an amazon review before. This stuff is so amazing that I have to tell everyone about it. I 'adopted' a large 3000+ gallon pond from the prior owner of the home I purchased. He neglected the pond for months, had no filter and didn't seem to know what he was doing. I drained the entire pond to find 3 inches of pure sludge at the bottom. Unfortunately, even after cleaning the pond completely, installing a large filter, not filing the pond to the maximum capacity, reducing the amount of fish, installing more aeration and adding more plants, the pond water still turned green and sludge like.With 90+ degree heat and 100% sun exposure (even with plants covering it, it's still almost 100%), algae was going to be a problem. I used tons of chemicals. From barely extract to algaecide, nothing worked. Finally, on a whim, I decided to try this stuff. I figured, "What the heck, I've already dumped hundreds into filters and chemicals."I followed the directions. 24-26oz for the first dose, then 6-8oz for the next 4 weeks. For the first two weeks, there didn't appear to be much improvement, but the filter had gotten SUPER gunky. Third week - I began to notice the pond was getting clearer. Tomorrow, I put my forth dose in, but the water is at probably 90% clarity. I wouldn't doubt that by next week, the pond will be crystal clear. There is zero sludge, and as much as fish can express emotions, they seem super happy and healthy. I obviously cannot test this within a vacuum, but I would recommend also picking up some barley bales. Put them next to your waterfall.Easily though, the best purchase I've ever made. Cannot recommend it enough! I'll probably upload photos later I'm so happy with it.

The product works. All of these bacterial products work especially if they are fresh. This one is a good one and the price is very good. That's important because the prices are all over the board. Some of them promise instant results, doesn't happen! Follow instructions, results will follow.
