This is one of the most longest lasting adhesives I have ever used. I used the same one for three years and only now it is starting to bend outwards but can still hold together. It is adjustable but for my purposes it was fine with the normal length. The main problem though is how strong the adhesive is, it is still holding strong to the cabinet after three years and I am kind of shocked how it still is like this. If I tried to remove it there’s a large change it will damage my cabinet so use it cautiously on wood

We actually got this to prevent a dog from getting into a trash can and it works. There are times when it is awkward to open but any safety device like this suffers from that. Older children can work it but a toddler would have to have strong fingers and have seen you open it.

The manufacturer is correct when they say these work for pets, too. I had a hard time getting advice because people didn't believe my little dog could open the fridge (she manages to do it with her paw—there are little claw marks on the edge about a foot from the ground). I looked on Amazon for refrigerator locks for one that would work, be inexpensive, and not cumbersome for adults to open. I found this one...plus it was the only one that mentioned the soecific problem I was having with my pet. It also comes in a pack of two in case we need to lock something else!

after finding refrigerator door open,overnight, on two occasions with temperature about what it is in los angeles, i had to do something. i also had a stern conversation with one of my cats who is the main suspect as he is like a Hoover vac around food.these are great. didnt trim and works well. a few times i tugged on the door, forgetting the locks, but the adhesive holds really well.plus you get two locks. i dont find it that easy to use one hand to squeeze locks to open but no big deal. good product

This worked great at first, but it has been a few months and now the latch is difficult to get closed for some reason. We will have to try to pry the current one off and swap it out for another one because it is almost impossible to do one handed holding a child now. I am hoping the next one lasts longer.

We actually bought this for our Dog. She is a super-smart Pyrenese mix who can open trash cans. I have been VERY impressed with the strength of these little safty locks! Not only have they held up through our dog's regular tries at opening, but I have cleaned the trashcan and despite moisture, they continue to remain well stuck. They are easy to unlock as well. Perfect product-- just what we were looking for. 5 months and going strong still... I am so glad someone invented this.

This lock works well on our trash can. The dog can no longer get into the trash when we're gone. Downsides - it's not attractive, and it's a bit tricky to open. We leave it open most of the time.

I'm using these to dog proof the kitchen. Our Australian Cattle Dog is too smart for his own good, and figured out how to get into both the pantry and the garbage. Thank goodness he doesn't have thumbs or he'd figure out how to get into this too. But he doesn't, so he can't. Ha!
