Seems to me, this bargain journal is of the same quality or, sadly, better that some higher priced/name-brand dot grid journals. Crayola Supertip markers & regular highlighters don't bleed thru but most others (Sharpies, Prismacolor, etc..) do. There can be some mild ghosting of dark ink (or marker) applied with a heavy hand - but it's honestly not bad. If you look up this same journal sold here singly by Taotree, there are a lot of customer photos. If ANY ghosting is a deal-breaker, don't buy this journal. I bought this single journal to test it & after testing, I ordered this box of 5 for $23.99 (w/coupon) , which makes them just under $5 each. At that price, these things are as golden as the lovely covers.5 stars in all but Sturdiness. I took off one star for sturdiness as one of my spines is a bit wonky and has a bubble, purely cosmetic, but still functions fine. I'm a tad worried how this one book will stand up over time, but the rest are perfect. I'm giving a couple as gifts & bujo-ing the rest myself!I also left this same review under the single journal version as I purchased both. Enjoy!

I bought one of these journals last year to start my first bullet journal. It was a lower cost option than many so I chose it because I wasn't sure if the habit would stick. It did, and I didn't hesitate to buy a 5-pack when I saw them available since I plan to keep it up now! They're durable and well put together, the covers are a nice soft material that doesn't show much wear even after bumping around in my backpack all year, and I appreciate the built in bookmark, elastic band and pocket in the back cover. The dot ruling allows for more freedom than ruled / graph paper but more structure than blank pages, and the paper is a decent thickness so that ink doesn't bleed through to the other side. I journal with sharpie pens and bleedthrough is a problem with cheap paper but not here. It's possible to see some lines faintly through the page but it doesn't bother me, I've attached a photo to show what I mean. If you're putting a lot of wet ink down on your pages this may not be the best choice but it's perfect for my purposes.

Perfect size books for Bullet Journaling. The paper is thick enough to stand up to Uniball rollers with zero bleed thru. I love the multi-packs as it allows me to give a few away to friends as I evangelize about the organizational magic of bullet journaling.

I've been keeping diaries and sketchbooks since 1965. I've bought everything from Moleskines to the leather bound sketchbooks from Italy. I'm so happy to have found these excellent, well -made volumes! They are so sturdy and the thick paper used in them stands up to watercolor, gouache, acrylic paint and ink...all inks and markers! And the price is so very reasonable! I would STONGLY encourage any journalist or artist to buy these wonderful blank books and just forget the rest. I wish the manufacturer would add more colors...happy bright colors, we diarists are recording so many grim things these days, happy colors might give us some encouragement.

These are good quality journals, great for the money. They don't lie perfectly flat when opened like the pictures implied (I don't know if any non-spiral journals really do that). I haven't had them long but it seems like they'll hold up pretty well over time.

This is my FAVORITE notebook! It is very well made and the pages are perfect thickness so ink will absorb but not bleed through. I give this as a small gift to friends and they all have the same review.

Used these notebooks for process books and general use. The paper was shockingly thick and awesome quality. I can use watercolor brush markers without any bleed through and with only minor ghosting. This is a bit of whiplash compared to the Leuchtturm notebooks I've used (which are very nice...but they have very thin paper).Price is wonderful! Paper is great! And the bright as heck yellow cover means I will never lose my notebooks.

Literally the cutest! I use them for college to write my notes in, definitely a great value for the price! The pages are bleed and ghost-proof using water soluble markers. Obviously they don't work well with alcohol markers, but I have tried them with ballpoint and gel roller pens and those don't bleed through at all!
