Like all these albums. Nice to have them all together in one place. If you like Kiki Dee this is the place to start.

This is the place if you have been looking to get the classic Kiki Dee albums that were released on Rocket Records from 1973-1978. Kiki is one of the few women who was as talented at writing her own songs, as being adept at interpreting other songwriters works & bringing new readings to a song. The proof is right there on her 1st Rocket Records album, with the gentle title track LOVING AND FREE, and a bunch of other beautiful songs. Rockers include Free's TRAVELLIN' IN STYLE and Elton & Bernie's SUPERCOOL. The ultimate rocker would be the title track from the 2nd album, I'VE GOT THE MUSIC IN ME. It's certainly one of the most scorching female rock songs ever. The album is balanced with exquisitely written & sung ballads such as LITTLE FROZEN ONE, HEART AND SOUL and the solitary WATER. Both of these albums are superior examples of a very talented, yet vastly underrated artist. 3rd album , KIKI DEE, is more orchestrated , and has some beautiful songs, but missing an out and out rocker. 4th album, STAY WITH ME, was recorded in L.A. and is a good balance, with rock,ballads, and pop. The title track is a prime example of Kiki providing a very strong take on this soul staple that's been recorded by many. 5th album CAGE THE SONGBIRD was originally not released , and came out finally in 2008. It has some remakes, ballads & rockers. It includes the elusive single ONCE A FOOL and a superb version of ROCK ME BABY AND ROLL ME AWAY [SO HIGH ], soon remade by Dave Mason. All of these titles were released individually on CD's in the UK in 2008. Those versions all contained bonus tracks, including many b-sides, This 5 CD set does not have any of the bonus songs. The CD's come in thin album replica aleeves and do not have any of the liner notes from the 2008 versions,. Also, the first 4 albums are available on 2 separate 2-on-1 double CD's which have most of the bonus tracks. But STAY WITH ME does not. If it's the original albums that you loved listening to on vinyl, this 5 CD set should do fine. Also none of Kiki Dee's albums have ever been released on CD in the US. All of these CD releases are from the UK. Thanks to them for reissuing the catalog of Kiki after all these many decades.
