Works great! Replacing iPhone app with physical device.
I purchased this Symantec OTP token key fob to use instead of the Symantec VIP app on my iPhone. This way my wife and I can share a single token generator for accessing our many OTP protected accounts online. Until more sites get with the 21st century and support OTP tokens generated by 1Password servers, this was the easiest way to have a shared OTP device.Examining the device, it appears that it should be possible to crack it open and replace the battery when the time comes. Also, "tested" the device on the symantec website and got a "working fine" response, so I will start converting our existing Symantec VIP dependent logins to use this keyfob instead of the iPhone app.I will update this review if I hit any snags.

Happy with one unforeseen factor…
Bought this to secure my accounts with 2FA using a rotating key that is separate from my phone in case my phone is the source of the compromise.Generally happy, but there is one thing I didn’t consider. Once the battery dies in this thing, there does not appear to be a way to replace it. So when that happens, i will lose access to my account unless I keep my original VIP registered as a backup. But that puts me back to square one. Only real option is the get locked out of the account once the battery dies and call the bank to regain access using my social and other identifying information. It is also just more convenient for logging into apps because it’s a bit annoying to have the VIP app open at the same time as a banking app.

Battery dead in 3 months time
I bought two of these in September 2023. It's now April 2024 and one of the Symantec One Time Password Display Token batteries is dead. There is no support on Symantec's web site for this and there is little information and none of it addresses the battery. Other searches show the battery should last about 8 years and that the battery is not replaceable. Amazon's customer service offers no help beyond the 30 day return policy. I searched other Amazon reviews and now I see others complaints about dead batteries. Look for or search dead battery reviews on this item. It may help you, it's too late for me.

Does the job
It works. One button, press it, and you've got your one-time authentication. What else is there to say?

A potentially safer alternative to the Phone app version
I replaced the software version installed on my phone with this hardware device. I prefer to be able to leave the device at home where it's hopefully less inclined to be lost or inaccessible if I lose or break the phone. The device works well. My only concern is that I will need to buy a replacement when the battery dies.

Doesn't work of VIP authentication with the sites I use
Didn't work at the site I purchased for or the vip[.] symantec[.]com test site. Not sure what this is about. Looks like I need to continue with the app.
