DeLonghi 9-Cup Capacity Food Processor with Integrated Blender

Ever since going on the Paleo diet, the food processor went from an item I used once a year to an item I used several times a day. I grind meat in this, make nut flour, grind vegetables to put in sauce or meatballs, make pesto, and slice and juilenne carrots, zuchinni, and sweet potatoes.I love the fact that it's a blender and food processor in one. Both attachments work great. I have had this for almost a year now. When I first got it I saw that the attachments were make of that brittle plastic that tends to crack over time, so I have been handwashing it instead of putting it in the dishwasher. I don't know how it would hold up in the dishwasher, but It's an expensive purchase for me so I needed it to last. So far no sign of cracks. The only drawback is the way the food processor attaches. It's a little hard to figure out at first. Then, over time it stopped latching tightly. It wiggles loose while I'm using it, and the food processor will stop. I sometimes have to hold the attachment on while it is running. I consider this a minor inconvenience, however, and would certainly purchase this item again!

Living in an apartment with a small kitchen, I really have to be careful what gadgets and gizmos I buy. This unit solved a lot of problems for me in that regard. By and large I like it- it switches seamlessly between the two functions and is easy to clean/store. The blender and food processor functions work great. My one gripe is that the slicing and shredding discs are too far away from the feed tube, resulting in the last quarter inch of whatever you're slicing/grating just getting sucked on top of the blade. This eventually necessitates removal of the lid to scoop out the unsliced/grated food. I would also like a bigger feed tube. Overall, though, it's much better than NOT having a blender or food processor, and while those two things are irritating, it's not a deal-breaker for me. Still a handsome, functioning machine at a really great price.

This integrated blender has earned its spot on my countertop. The stainless steel finish gives it a modern look that blends well with my kitchen decor. I've found it to be sturdy and durable, which is crucial for a kitchen appliance that sees frequent use. Quality-wise, the DeLonghi food processor doesn't disappoint. The blades are sharp and efficient, handling everything from chopping veggies to pureeing sauces with ease, and I had no issues. It's got plenty of room for most tasks, whether I'm prepping ingredients for a family meal or whipping up a batch of salsa for game night. However, I've found that it's not as powerful as standalone blenders, so managing expectations there is key. As for usability, it's fairly straightforward. The multiple speed settings and pulse function give me enough control over the processing, though I've found the interface a bit clunky at times. It takes some getting used to, but once you've got the hang of it, operation is smooth.

I use my Dehonghi food processor [DFP] just about every day as I prepare 6-10 meals weekly for my extended family. The DFP is fabulous for homemade chips - sweet potato and squashes included. It makes quick work of sauces, salsas and anything in between. I puree a lot of veggies and slip into meat sauces and meat loaves - which my picky eaters do not notice. The blender gets used only 3-4 times a week but it works great for smoothies, slushes, shakes and anything that just needs a bit of swirling. No one feels guilty about requesting a special treat as the DeLonghi blender is such a breeze to use and clean up afterward. I highly recommend this combo to anyone who is interested in full size products without sacrificing counter or storage space.

Except for the blades, all parts are made of plastic including the drive mechanism. For me, this machine lasted for only 17 months with a very moderate use. So, in summary: cool food processor but of poor quality and durability.

I don't often use the food processor, but when I do use it I like it. I use the blender 2-4 times a week and I really liked it. It was easy to clean even if the base didn't come off. I bought it less than a year ago (summer 2014), and about 4 months after beginning to use it, there were cracks in the bottom. Last week the cracks finally expanded to the top of the blender and now the blender is not usable. The instructions say it's dishwasher safe. I rarely use my dishwasher and I hand washed the blender most of the time. We put hot liquids (not boiling) in it a few times and we think that's where the cracks came from. I wish I'd known that hot liquids might ruin the blender. It's less than a year old!

I searched for a long time on line for a great food processor with wonderful reviews and actually found none. Even the expensive ones didn't have the best reviews. When I read the reviews on the DeLonghi, I was pleased, even though there were only 17 reviews. I thought because it was so cheap and included a blender it would be junk. Well, its not junk and I love it. It's only been a week, but it works great. Last year I purchased a Food Network processor thinking I would be getting top of the line quality, but when I first used it to grate cheese the lid was forced off while shredding! This happened repeatedly. Soon after, the mechanism that locks the lid in place broke completely off. Needless to say, I'm taking it back. Thank goodness Kohl's takes returns up to a year. The DeLonghi lid does not have any fancy mechanism for locking the lid to the base. It is just good old fashioned well-constructed quality. I will post again later if anything breaks. I highly recommend this unit now, and its so much cheaper on Amazon. $200 at Kohl's...$79 Amazon!

I have not used this a ton yet but here's my thoughts so far... Blender: Works well. VERY easy to clean compared to the Oster that I had previously, which I really like since half the pain of using a blender is the clean up after. Does this blender pulverize ice? No. It does chop it fairly finely, which is really all I expected of it. If you want something really good at crushing ice then you probably want a Ninja. I almost got that instead but really wanted a combo appliance. I'm not in love with how the cover comes on/off but it does have a measuring cup in the top of it for those who use their blender to make mixed drinks. I couldn't care less about that but it would be handy for those of you who use your blender for that. Food processor: So far I've used it to shred cheese, slice cucumbers and zucchini. Worked very well. I cannot tell you how well the dough mixer works since we have a Kitchen Aid mixer and use that for mixing dough. What the processor includes: *TWO METAL SHREDDING DISCS... one thick and one thin. (Made of strong metal, probably stainless steel. Blades are very sharp. The place that attaches onto the processor is plastic, which does make one question long-term durability. My husband's pretty picky about the quality of parts and he thinks that as long as you're not abusing it and trying to process things that are way too hard/stiff for the machine then it should last just fine for a long time). *METAL KNIFE BLADE. (I haven't really used this yet) * PLASTIC DOUGH TOOL. (Haven't tried this either). I've read some complaints about the shredding discs being too sharp and easy to cut yourself on. First of all, they NEED to be sharp or they're not going to work! Second, yes they rest near the top so when you take the cover off it's close to the rim. I've used more expensive models before and they were set up that way too. I'm extra cautious and just unplug the processor before taking the cover off. Use your head and your fingers will be fine. I really liked the locking system on this product. Have used other ones that were stiff to get on and off but this one doesn't seem to be that way at all. Bottom line: For a combo blender/food processor I doubt that you're going to find anything much better. If you're seriously into crushing ice in your blender or processing A LOT of food at a time then you may want something else. This meets our needs quite well and didn't cost an arm and a leg. I never would have spent the $$$ on getting a separate food processor but since we were in the market for a new blender anyhow this just made sense.

Not enough power and speed. Works well for simple jobs.
