The Freehand Designer is an invaluable drawing aid to architects, engineers, builders, designers, surveyors, students and anyone who needs to draw accurate freehand drawings. It enables the user to perfectly draw straight lines, parallel lines and right angles onto paper. This means that an architect or engineer can draw a layout on-site that is so neat and accurate that the process of redrawing at the office can be omitted completely.It is invaluable when doing on-site drawings or sketches and you will find even when working in the office or workshop, you will use the Freehand Designer to do your drawings and sketches.The Freehand Designer is made of microscopic pyramids, of which there are 400 covering every square centimetre of the board. Your pen or pencil is guided by these pyramids through the drawing paper, enabling the precise drawing of horizontal and vertical lines. Precise diagonal lines can be drawn via the use of the loose protractor sheet.Any pen or pencil can be used, however for best results, a fine tipped high quality biro is recommended. In the case of a pencil, a 0.5mm H or 2H lead is recommended.. VAT is included in the price and a VAT receipt available on request.

Very fine grid lines...you may want deeper...
The product is pretty unique. I love the hard black folder/case it comes with. The grid seems pretty fine lined...meaning i wish it had a deeper groove for the pencil to follow. However i think this is how the product is and its competitors also. I bought this for sketching, only time will tell how useful it is with the very fine lines.

Handy but over priced at $34
This was a fair deal for the price I paid but $34 is over priced. It's handy but the note book it's attached to is really cheaply made. At $20 or $22 this is a fair deal. Due to the quality of the note book, limited life expectancy the usefulness of the whole idea @ $34 is disappointing.

Perfect for my needs
As a sales rep for Yankee Home Improvement in MA, I am expected to measure roofs and siding projects on site, and present the client with a professional-looking diagram along with their quote. The Straightlines folder allows me to draw, freehand, a diagram that looks like it came from an engineer's draft board. The cover gives a professional appearance as well.

How to draw with this tablet
If you drag your pen or pencil, it will keep your lines straight and your drawings will be much improved.
