AQUA CREST Fluoride Water Filter, Replacement for Berkey® PF-2® Fluoride Reduction Elements, Berkey® Gravity Filtration System, NSF/ANSI 372 Certified, Pack of 2

We've had our Berkey for 8 years but stopped using it about 3 years ago because the filter costs were so high and that they were not NSF rated. I was pleasantly surprised to find Aqua Crest to have NSF certified replacements at a lower price.I set the Berkey back up and have been using it for a few weeks and its works great. Tastes good and even tested the water (just with those strip kits, not a professional service) and the results were great.I was using the aqua crest filers for my PUR filter and now use this.Update 4 months later - filter is still going. Great doesn’t come up part like other reviewers have mentioned, working perfectly. But I also discover is that the black cartridges don’t require as much cleaning as the original Berkey filters do. My original Berkey filters will get clogged up pretty fast within a couple weeks. Why I’d have to take them out and scrub them very often.

Tried other similar looking models in the past but they fell apart. They were absolute garbage!Don't worry! Be happy with this one and is proven to be well built and removes a lot of the crap in water!

It was easy to replace previous filter and is working fine so far.

I bought these and made my own filtration system with things I already had in the house so all I had to buy were the filters. That worked out well because I live on a small fixed income. It was very easy to do and these filters do their job beautifully. They do pass the red food coloring test and my water tastes so very much better. It does not take an eternity for the water to filter through either. My old 18 year old cat was throwing up several times a day and my water felt like it was actually burning the back of my throat . Since I have been using these filters my cat has stopped throwing up and I actually enjoy drinking water again. When I can afford it I really want the ceramic attachments for arsenic, fluoride, and so forth......... It has been around a month since my review and I have a question. It has also been about a month since I tore this system apart and cleaned it. The water in the top never drains all the way. However, I only add water as I use it so it never gets a chance to just set in there except for the bit at the top. I went to add a little water to the system before bed and was hit with the smell of mildew. When I reached inside the top container the walls of the bucket are slimy. The water coming out does not have an odor but slimy water on top means bacteria and as far as I know mildewed filters is not a good thing is it ??? Please help if you know anything about this because I can not seem to find anyone from AquaCrest to ask.

As a loyal Berkey customer for over a decade, I decided to try these filters to save money. I have a Big Berkey with four black filters and four fluoride filters. Despite proper disassembly, reassembly, priming, and water testing—practices I’ve followed for years—the new filters allowed water to pass through much faster and showed no significant difference in water testing compared to results I’ve gotten in the past using true Berkey filters. This experience was completely disappointing and a waste of money. Now I need to go buy water until I’m able to get replacements. Lesson learned: I will not be buying these again. In my opinion, you should save your money.

On the Berkey filter the directions say same as this filter, to only turn 7 or so times so that the inner seal is not punctured. But if you take a q-tip and gently put it in the UP end, the Berkey's filter seal & content are at the top and the q-tip only goes in a short distance. This filter's turned the opposite direction and the q-tip goes in the botton the same distance as the top of the Berkey filter. If putting a q-tip in the UP end of this filter it goes a much longer distance into the canister... similar to the bottom opening of the Berkey. I don't know that it really makes any difference in it's filtering capabilities but you don't need to be so concerned about not tightening the the filter into place with only the exact turns.

The media could not be loaded. I have bought the berky filter and this one and they both do a great job! I really can’t tell a difference. It gives fresh, clean, good tasting water at a fraction of the price of the name brand. I would say it lasts for about 6-8 months depending on use. The speed of filtering is also really good.

I have been SO frustrated wondering why my filters are NOT filtering! I have been taking apart, cleaning, and then setting up again to no avail. I did notice the base of the filter had come apart....but it seemed to set back into the base....??? But finally I decided to come to the reviews and "LO and behold!" several people mention this problem. Now I did read that this company has an excellent customer service yet I cannot find anywhere how to contact them. So I am giving them an opportunity to make this right for me before I give it a bad rating. Hence a 3 star rating first. Please make this right!

The filter let the water flow through like an open faucet..no filtration.. should have listened to the negative feedbacks.. arranged return!!

Easy to install

These work great, they're the perfect value replacement for OG berkey filters. I don't have testing equipment to be able to speak to the actual filtering quality but it tastes the same as filtering through my Berkey brand filters and if you can't afford the OG brand, at least this is better than tap water!!

Product seems ok. Water has a bit of a taste different to the authentic product. But this could be simple to the changes that seem to be with the actual water.
