I’m a girl with short hair, and I prefer clay because it offers a light hold, which keeps my hair mostly out of my face while allowing me to restyle or play with my hair through the day, which I have a habit of doing (I push my fringe back all the time)I have tried a few clays out there now, and, so far, this is the best I’ve tried. It’s the most expensive I’ve ever bought, I usually spend about a fiver or thereabouts, but you definitely get what you pay for.1) the smell - it’s a really nice smell. It has a subtle spice smell to it, at least that’s what I get from it. You get a really good hit when applying it and then it fades away nicely.2) application - the easiest clay I’ve applied. It feels like a really thick mousse in a can almost, it comes out so easily and smoothly. It spreads well in the palms and putting it through the hair is the easiest I’ve ever used. Most clays I’ve had before pull slightly when applying it in hair, but this one just slides right through.3) hold - this is a medium light hold (I have thickish Asian hair) and it does what I like my clay to do. I like some movement in my fringe (the longest part of my hair) and this clay allows my fringe some movement while keeping the majority of it off my face. It’s light enough that when I run my hand through my fringe (which as I mention I do through the day) the hair restyles easily and no gunk comes off on my hand, nor does it feel stiff or hard to do. I have noticed when using this clay that my hair seems more textured and is easier to style even the next day, without adding anymore product, at least to achieve the look I am going for.A great clay, I think this will be my clay of choice from now on - it literally has done everything that I want from a clay and, I have to admit, is totally worth the price.

Absolutely awful product, basically grease in a tin. This product is not even remotely close to matt leaves hair greasy gappy and unworkable. Would not recommend.

Great styling cream for a smooth look and medium hold.
