Drum Solo Magic - Belly Dance Technique and Choreography

I really love the fact that this is a more advanced drum solo DVD. This is a beautiful choreography, but I would suggest being beyond the dance basics. This is a good drum solo dvd for those ready to advance in the dance.

This is a great instructional dvd. I absolutely love it. The best thing is that she shows you movements that work for the rhythms...this is gold! (and that's before she even shows you the choreography). She also shows you combos that you can use with or without the choreography. The choreography itself is wonderful. I love it. Thank you so much for sharing your gifts and talents and helping everyone. I appreciate it so much!!!

Like all her other DVDs, excellent instruction and combinations. Excellent choreography, too. The only distraction which is why I didn't give it 5 stars is the outfit she wore - it looked like the dancer's version of full body armour. You couldn't see the actual moves except through shiny cloth and the long tail cloak worn over everything else didn't let you see the leg moves from the back and sides. Hey, this is bellydancing after all. Fortunately, having her shimmering hips and silk waist videos gave me a good background for this DVD,

Shahrzad starts you off with a nice warm up, with movements that morph into steps that she teaches in the video. She follows that with clear, concise description and demonstration of the dance moves. She puts the moves into combininations, and shows you how to stitch the combinations into short choreographies, which are then molded into a complete drum solo. She then takes you through the entire drum solo, and then does a performance of the drum solo. You will warm up, learn, drill, practice, combine, practice, perform. This is an advanced video, but Shahrzad makes it easy to understand and easy to follow, which makes it fun to work with. If you are not an advanced student, don't be afraid of getting this DVD to challenge yourself.
