Kinda good
I bought this for camping uses. When I got it the first thing that happened is the metal decoration panels fell off. Then when I filled it with lighter fluid the lid would not screw on tight enough without a lot of trouble and force. After the lid was on tight enough to keep it from leaking it was extremely difficult to open back up. Then the cotton in it bundled up in the bottom not allowing the lid to screw all the way down. But as for the fire starting properties of this product it is a great way to start a fire and it works fine. But your better off getting a zippo or a knock of zippo.

Hard to light, dangerous to use.
It's nearly impossible to light. Also be very careful when filling it. I accidentally overfilled it dumped the excess out or so I thought. I didn't feel lighter fluid pour out onto my hand when I went to light it and I set my hand on fire and suffered 2nd degree burns. It was agonizing. Not worth the novelty in my opinion. The flint is long and the wick short so getting the sparks to ignite the wick takes a ton of tries most times.

Plastic but nice
I don't like either regular zippo- or bic-style lighters, so I purchased this one because I like how you strike it like a match--more of a novelty. The housing is made out of black plastic with two thin metal overlays around it, so it is "rugged" enough for typical use, much like a regular bic lighter. It strikes well enough for the most part. It's not an instant-on strike every time, but neither are matches or even regular bic lighters. I would purchase it again for the right price.

Disappointed
I was anxious to use this little jewel. After the third strike the fuel spilled from the tiny canister and onto my hand. Immediately the fire began as this was a good strike. My entire hand caught on fire. Canister needs to seal while striking to avoid this.

it does work as advertized
casing came apart (cosmetic) and the socket is not properly centered for the match to screw in. i would recommend replacing the wick as soon as possible. it is worth 5usd i paid though

Permanent match. Interesting idea. Might be good for hiking. Price is right.
It's tough to tell exactly what this is, but it is a small plastic container (reservoir) into which you can put lighter fluid, plus a long solid matchstick which at the bottom end has a small amount of steel and some wick material. The top of this matchstick is the silver screw top you can see in the picture that screws into the reservoir. The reservoir has a piece of flint in the black plastic trough on the right side of the picture. To use, you unscrew the top, and flick the steel tip of the "match" against the flint. This lights the wick, which is soaked in lighter fluid. It's a permanent match.Reservoir is a bit flimsy, but the idea is neat. Would work quite a bit without depleting the lighter fluid. Not sure how tough the wick is, and if you burn out the wick you're going to need a new matchstick. Still, might be good for a camping/hiking outing. I haven't made good use of mine yet, but will report back once I do.

I would grab another
Its a nice thing to carry around but if you let the flame consume the wick material then you'll have to pull out the metal bit of the match to pull more wick material out.

In expensive. Not sure I would trust my life to it but for a few bucks it was worth a try.
