Quality was fine... But bit oper priced

I had 2 filters that had a little extra room for bio media so bought the two pack and they worked exactly as needed. Every water change I swish the bag of bio media around in old tank water and replace. I wouldn't hesitate to buy these again. The reason I preferred to add bio-balls to my filters is I already had (established) Seachem Matrix in them (more than enough for the bio load of my tanks). Adding a denser material will decrease water flow and will clog faster. The bio balls work well and because of their design, allow water to flow through them easily. So now my filter basket is full of bio media but not jammed so tightly that water can't flow through it.For new aquarium owners, bio media becomes less and less important the longer your tank is established and mechanical filtration is always most important (with regular water changes).

Super great value for canister filters and HOB even. I even pop some in tanks to use in new tanks to help setup bacteria quicker. I like the sponge interiors, more surface area and also better at catching smaller particulates. Would only buy these at this point and pricing point.

Reasonably priced and effective in harboring beneficial bacteria to take care of Nitrites.
