This lock is the best purchase I have made on Amazon. I have an autistic child who has gotten out of our house because he was able to unlock our doors. Most people install locks to keep people out but we are trying to keep our child safe inside and this lock definitely works for us . Also it is very easy to install. We have one on our front and back door and he has never been able to open them. Of course, it is also great to keep people out. No one is coming in your house with this lock on your door. If you are looking for an inexpensive, easy to install very effective lock, I suggest and highly recommend .

My toddler figured out how to open the front door. Let the dogs out once when the landlord had pulled up. Tried going outside multiple times to play by herself. We dont have a dead bolt and our front door is metal. These were an easy fix to our issues. Easy to install. Easy to use.

The WINONLY home security door lock is relatively easy to install and seems to be very strong. I had another brand for several years and was impressed with their strength. The only problem with the other brand was that the surfaces that have to be grabbed to release the lock were smooth. They required enough hand strength to squeeze the device to open it. With the WINONLY home security door lock I thought I had found a better option because the surfaces that have to be squeezed and pulled have depressions on those surfaces which allow for a better grip. There is a problem with the two white locks that I received. Even though the outside is easier to grip and apply pressure, the internal mechanism does not move smoothly. The top and the bottom portions do not slide in unison which is needed to unlock the device. When the top or the bottom slides farther than the other, it tends to bind and hinder the unlocking. In a rush to exit in a rush or in an emergency, this could be a problem. My wife, who had no problem opening the previous locks that had the smooth surfaces, finds these very difficult to manipulate. My hands are pretty big and strong, but I have problems with them too. In fact, I plan to put the old locks back on. One more thing. I also purchased a WINONLY home security door lock in brown at the same time(back in August,) and have absolutely no problem with opening it. It had the same type indentations as the white ones, but the internals glide much more smoothly. These are great locks. Someone on the outside would have a heck of a time trying to get in, but they need to be easier to unlock in a rush. UPDATE:I emailed the seller. They emailed back quickly and called me. After several emails from them requesting information and several replies from me, they notified me that they were replacing the locks. I received them rather quickly. I installed them, and they work just as they should.

I bought two white and one black of this product. They were extremely easy to install less than 5 minutes each. They are extremely effective and useful as my daughter has already figured out how to open the door. I placed them roughly five and a half ft off the ground. This ensures that she cannot reach them even with her getting on a step stool that we have. I am very thankful this product was invented as we have not had any more instances of her going out the door without us knowing. What a blessing and a ease of mind. When I first saw these, I thought back to when I was in High School Shop. We built these strange things that would balance an you could hang a tie on them. When I brought it home my Father put it up the the door frame and screwed it on. What it did, was connect two contacts and that would ring a chime when anyone walked into the garage through the house. My Father was an electrician. Once, it got stuck and you couldn't open the door. It looked exactly like these. So we used it to secure the door at night. Great idea. Easy to install, extremally tough. And remember, longer screws do NOT make a strong lock. A strong lock makes a strong lock. Thanks.

I am a mother of three and I am very paranoid when it comes to the safety of my family. You can never be too safe, but these locks are pretty perfect! We recently moved to a new home in a new city and new makes me worry about safety as you no longer know the neighborhood. I immediately purchased and installed these locks and I could not be happier that I did so! They're so strong I'm pretty certain only a juggernaut would break through these locks. Very easy to install. We drilled a little pilot hole in the door frame and into the door and then screwed everything into place. Super easy and super safe. I HIGHLY recommend these security locks!!!
