Pinpointer works great. Put it through its paces on a super muddy day for it's first go. It does well but works, but max range is 2 inches when searching a hole. It has trouble finding very small finds. I use this and a Garrett so I am able to say this is a great back up and always a plus in the field. I do find that sometimes I need to turn it back of and then on again for it to work right. Not sure why but I have to do that with the Garrett carrot too. Overall it makes for a good back up and will speed up recovery of targets. I don't mind that it can't go 3 inches like the Garrett but would have gotten five stars if if didn't have trouble with small objects. It missed a few cuff buttons the other pinpointer got but overall I am please and use it every time i am out. I have roughly 25 hours using it as of this review.

I purchased this pinpointer when I accidentally broke my Garrett Propointer and had to send it in for warranty work. I was a little skeptical of it at first, but it soon proved to be as good as a pinpointer as my Garrett. Most of my minor gripes reflect the overall quality of the device housing... It feels a little flimsy compared to my Propointer, the battery compartment cap crossthreads far too easily (and has stripped out a little). I found that I have absolutely no use for the lanyard.Now, some find it a blessing that the Deteknix doesn't "see" tinfoil, but this is a symptom of a bigger issue... Gold. While my Garrett signals on the tiniest pieces of gold, the Deteknix does not! And the two seem to perform better on opposite ends of the scale... The Garrett really shines with low-conductors like ferrous metals, gold, lead, etc.; while the Deteknix performs better with copper, silver and the like. So I carry both on the front of my digging pouch!

Let me tell you, this pro-pointer is a wonderful addition to my favorite hobby. I had considered getting the Garrett Pro-pointer, but it cost way to much for me and let me tell you this Xpointer is phenomenal. I have had it for nearly 6 months and have had no issues with it. You can be roughly 4-5 inches from a target (depending on size) and as you get closer the beeps get closer together. There is also a vibration only feature that is really useful when hunting near people early in the morning. This little Xpointer is great. I would highly recommend it!!

This pin-pointer really comes in handy and will help you to be quicker and more effective when it comes to taking out plugs and replacing them with minimal damage. The night this came I happened to lose a needle and couldn't find it with my eyes. I put a battery in this thing and fired it up. Used a quarter to get the feel for how it worked and then went searching for that needle. Found it very quickly!! I now have much more time to search rather than dig and sift etc because of this little detector. I love it.

Great price and functions as good or better than the more expensive brands. Only drawback is the end cap is very difficult to tighten, so much so that I fear I may break the unit.

Great pin pointer for the money. I bought this as an upgrade to a Bounty Hunter pointer that came bundled with my detector. This pointer blows it out of the water. The built in light is very handy and the vibration mode is great if you are trying not to annoy everyone around you.

When you first turn on it starts out on the lowest setting, an you almost always want it on the highest so you have to keep pushing the button to get it there, I think it should be the other way around start out on the highest then go down. besides that it's great.

I can only compare it to the Garrett Propointer and it out performs the Garrett hands down. No falseing NONE! not even when trying to bend it. Depth is fantastic (you wont chase phantom targets)A couple of things: One is waiting for the 3rd beep before beginning to probe a little slow but not an issue, and the buttons seem a little harder to push but again no problem.Would I buy again? You bet your ... I would.Would I recommended the Xpointer? Definitely!.HHD

If you need a good pinpointer without paying a fortune, you really should consider the Deteknix X Pointer. It's about half the price of the top end models and does exactly the same job. It's robustly built and feels solid in the hand but not too heavy or bulky. It comes with a lanyard, a good quality belt holster and two spare push on tips to prevent damage to the search tip .It also has a two year guarantee for peace of mind. I have used mine several times now on digs and I have no complaints whatsoever. It finds the smallest of targets easily, the volume is brilliant ( I am a bit deaf) and there is also a vibrate function as well as a bright built in flashlight. I read somewhere that it can make some detectors go a bit haywire but this has not been my experience and if it ever does, I'll just move it back from the hole a bit...simples! Great value for money, very effective in the field, doesn't false, easy to use and the delivery was ultra fast.

Works as well as more expensive devices and has improved my find quota. Vibrate mode is a blessing. I will buy another one when this one eventually fails but it shows no sign of doing so. Glad it comes with extra tips and a belt holster.

Excellent probe for the money i was toying with the idea about getting a Garret but i took a chance on this and it works brilliantly. i went hunting last Sunday and was really impressed with the depth it was reaching really glad i purchased this item at half the price of some of the other brands out there

Excellent bit of equipment, great value tough accurate and reliable.3 levels of sensitivity and bleep or vibration or both.Mine has been giving me sterling service in allsorts of extreme conditions .
