I love that I can use this without reflectors.
It arrived in the mail mid December near Las Vegas Nevada. I cooked potatoes next day with some partial clouds during part of the time. They were ready in four hours . I also have the global solar oven . The thing I love about this one is that I can put two pans in it and I can use it without the reflectors . This makes it easier to set up and just a tad lighter in weight and it gives me more cooking options for a meal . If I was ever in a huge hurry to have something cook faster and maybe even hotter I would use the global solar oven , but my guess is that this is the one I'll be grabbing first 80% of the time . For those days when I put the food out before going to work so it is done when I come home this one would be great because if I don't have to worry about wind with the reflectors , because I will not have reflectors on it . I started the potatoes at 9 AM on a chilly winter morning . They were done by 2 PM which is about when a Hill starts shutting off sunlight in our yard at this time of year . I love this lightweight little oven and I'm going to be using it a lot . It also came with a great little manual .

Completely Versatile with Outstanding Performance
We've used this oven now for several months. We've baked breads, rolls, biscuits, soups, stews, meat dishes, one-pot dishes, multiple-pot meals and heated water for cleaning. It's never failed us and we still find it amazingly simple to use. The reflector grabs a lot of extra sunshine and the oven heats up quickly, performs wonderfully and is really easy to clean. We were surprised at how easy it is to set-up, use, clean and take down. It's durable and still looks brand new. Be added the carry bag and the pot cozies and find that they really make it a convenient cooking option both on the go, camping or in the back yard. We love the fact that it doesn't require us to heat up the house in the summer, allows us the convenience of slow-cooking, and just makes every taste blend in amazing ways. Great performer!

Must Have Solar Oven
My Sport has held up great in the year or so I've had it. You get 2 pots with lids with it and they are top quality. The Sport makes amazing dishes - the BEST ribs I've ever had and an amazing Carrot Cake (recipe is on Solavore.com website) I've also made great baked beans, pulled pork, and stew, among other dishes. I LOVE being able to fill it in the morning, go away and come back to an incredible meal. I live in Washington state in the Columbia River area where the wind can be strong. The Sport works great - heats up well and is steady on the ground - even tho it is lightweight. I also love being able to pick it up without hand protection (while cooking) and move it to another place. The outside does not get hot.Last summer when it was over 100 degrees for a week straight, we used it every day. It was way too hot to cook inside and the Sport was a life saver. If you are thinking of a solar oven, this is the choice for you. You will not be disappointed.

An Arizona must
We are very solar conscious in our home and use the sun for as much as we can. Solar cooking here In AZ just makes sense. If you are an experienced cook it is easy to adjust recipes for solar cooking. If you are not, I suggest maybe try using some of your favorite slow cooker recipes. This Solar Oven comes with everything you need to be successful. It even has an oven thermometer.I have done chili, a potato crusted quiche, Mexican chicken and rice. Tomorrow is the big test: steak and baked potato. I am confident it will be one of the best steaks I have ever done and I do great steaks. If you are on the fence about solar cooking, give it a try. It is perfectly safe as the thermometer will prove.

Amazing Oven
I recently purchased this and thought I'd experiment to see if it would get warm in the winter. It was mid February in northern Utah, and it was just above freezing outside with snow still on the ground. It was sunny, but with some hazy high clouds. I sat it upright, like the instructions suggested for winter, and put the reflectors on. Within 45 minutes it was up to 230 degrees. Unbelievable. I put in a raw whole egg, unbroken in the shell, on a small saucer plate. I checked after about 2 hours and I had a yummy hardboiled egg without boiling any water. I am amazed, and anxious to use it more.Compared to the Global Solar Oven this is larger, and a better price. And the fact that it comes with 2 pans is an added bonus.

Solavore Wins Another Fan!
Well, I just ordered my second one. And I'll probably end up buying a few more for Christmas gifts. Anything you can cook in a crockpot you can cook in the Solavore. And even more! Veggie stew tastes fantastic under a day's worth of sunshine....don't add any liquids, just the veggies and spices. And it will come out moist and tantalizing. My beef stroganoff came out perfect. LOL! Just for an experiment I put in a cardboard carton of eggs just to see if I could boil them without water. After two hours they came out perfectly hardboiled, cooked right inside the shell. My only failure so far was trying to make a loaf of beer bread. It turned out a little soggy, but next time I may bake my bread using the reflector assembly that Solavore provides. I suspect my next loaf will be a raging success. I retired a few years ago, and this is the best hobby I've found yet! What a hoot!

Fun, and it works
I have had $250 dollars worth of fun playing with this device during the two years I have had it. I live in Central California. Summer days usually exceed 100 degrees. I use this oven on the back deck, to help keep the house cooler during summer. I have never tried it during the winter. It cooks just like a crock pot. A chicken or pork ribs cook well in about 2 1/2 hours as long as they are cut up. I cut the rack of ribs into individual ribs. At the very end of the cooking time I just cover the ribs with BBQ sauce and serve. I have had success with rice and the cookbook that is included has a good recipe for Arroz con Pollo. The key to success with this device seems to be learning to use the proper amount of liquid to add to the dish. Turning the oven every 30 to 40 minutes, to follow the sun, speeds cooking.
