One of the Best Books on Starting your Corporation
I’ve read numerous books on finance, mortgages, investments, trusts, and companies. With 17 years of multinational business experience and ownership of three companies—one in the U.S. and two abroad—I thought I had a solid grasp of these topics. However, this book truly opened my eyes to new strategies tailored to specific business needs. The book dives deep into setting up trusts and incorporating LLCs within them to enhance protection against lawsuits. It explains the best ways to structure these entities and why it’s essential. Additionally, it provides valuable insights into selecting the right states for company registration, detailing the benefits of corporate veil protection, anonymity options, and the advantages offered by tax haven states.Whether you’re looking to establish your first company or reorganize your affairs to better protect your assets from creditors or legal threats, this book is a must-read. It’s an invaluable guide that will help you make informed decisions and safeguard your future. Highly recommended!Koorosh

One of the BEST resources I own
"Start Your Own Corporation" is a must-read for anyone looking to establish a solid foundation for their business ventures. I found this book incredibly informative and packed with practical advice on structuring a corporation, protecting your assets, and minimizing taxes. As I start building my real estate and investment portfolio, I know I’ll be referring back to this book often. It provides clear, step-by-step guidance that’s perfect for beginners and experienced entrepreneurs alike. 10/10 would read again—this is definitely a valuable resource to keep on your shelf!

Great book, hard read
The book itself is full of knowledge and great examples. It generally follows the pattern of introduce the corporation, why that corporation is good or bad, and an example of that in a real world situation. I give it 5 stars but I don’t think this is a starter book. It is written in some difficult language. So either I’m dumber than I think I am, or most entry level entrepreneurs or anyone just interested in business might have a harder time reading this book than maybe another, more simply written book.

Great book for someone starting a small business
Garrett is a great communicator, he tells you what you need to know to start a company and tells you why with examples from real life, people who didn't follow his advice and lost a lot of money for saving a few hundred.

Wealth of information
Garrett Sutton goes through all the reasons why doing business as a person is a bad idea. If you operate under your own name, you open yourself up to liabilities which can wipe you out financially and emotionally, often through no fault of your own (except for ignorance). You also pay much more in taxes than you should have, based on higher tax rates and less options for legitimate deductions. He then goes on to describe the different forms of entities you can form to operate under, and clearly explains the pros and cons behind each one. Some are really no different than operating under your own name. Garrett labels these 'bad entities' and steers you clear of them. The remaining 'good entities' are explained, with many examples, so you can find one that fits your particular situation. There is no 'one size fits all', as the examples will make quite clear.Asset protection, tax benefits, estate planning, succession planning, these are all covered in enough detail to be useful, but not so much that your eyes glaze over. This book is no replacement for an attorney's advice, or a CPA's, and Garrett is also very clear on this. It will, however, give you a leg up so when you do talk to your own advisor(s), they will not need to explain every little concept to you, and if you get billed by the hour, then this book will save you many hours.Highly recommended, and a credit to the Rich Dad Advisor series.

Great info for noobs
Very informative for the noob. I knew an llc limited liability but not the details of how. This gives you a great beginners introduction to different company structures and how to protect yourself legally. Gives you a lot of examples of how one entity works in certain scenarios better than another, as well as where the downfalls are of entities.Probably not so great if you are experienced with setting up your own company as a legal entity as this is fairly noob info. This book stands out from the other rich dad series as not being so salesy and guru-esque. This is fairly straight information focused on the facts.

Probably The Best How-To-Start-A-Corporation Book For Novices
This book has everything a new business owner would need to navigate the sometimes-murky waters of starting a company, planning for tax season, and protecting yourself. Of course, you'll need other books to cover each of these topics more in-depth, but this is a wonderful book for getting started (or getting re-acquainted, if you've been out of the game for awhile). For Intermediate-level business owners, there is enough info here about protecting yourself (and your assets) that you might find it worth the price of admission.
