Ceramic knife set
I love this ceramic knife set! This is my first experience with ceramic knives. I have to say that I am quite impressed with how sharp these knives are. I wasn't sure about ceramic knives at first, but these knives turned out to be amazing! The blades are really sharp and they STAY sharp which is the most important thing. The ceramic is easy to clean and won't rust or stain. The handle is curved nicely and fits in your hands and the santoku knife has little ridges in the blades that make it so food doesn't stick to the blade as you are chopping! This set comes with a santoku knife and a pairing knife, which are the two kinds of knives that I use most often! These knives come with blade protectors and came packaged nicely in a velvet-lined box. It would be a perfect gift for new homeowners, wedding, graduation, or pretty much any occasion. Having sharp knives is really important to anyone who enjoys cooking. My parents have dull knives and it makes prepping and cooking food a major pain whenever I go visit and cook. I might have to give them a set of these knives to try out!I received this product discounted for my honest and unbiased review.

Sharp but potentially unsafe
The media could not be loaded. This is an attractive looking pair of ceramic knives that comes with a 5" scalloped edge Santoku knife and a 3" pairing knife with white ceramic blades and black plastic handles. I use a Santoku knife just about every night when I slice, dice, or mince vegetables, so I was pleased to have the opportunity to evaluate this ceramic one since my regular Santoku knives are made of high carbon steel. As you can see from the brief video I made, both of these ceramic knives are very sharp. The pairing knife worked very well to do fine detail work, and the Santoku knife was so sharp that it not only chopped cucumbers easily, but also was able to cut through an overripe orange without mushing the soft fruit. Ceramic knives are known for their ability to hold a sharp edge longer than most steel knives and because ceramic doesn't react with foods it won't turn your fruit brown when you cut it with these knives. These knives are definitely sharp which made quick work out of slicing and chopping vegetables. You shouldn't use ceramic knives for anything other than fruits, vegetables, and boneless meats however since they're brittle and can chip or break if they're dropped or come in contact with bone when cutting. For that same reason you can't use them on frozen foods either and should only use them on a pliable cutting surface such as wood or plastic, but never on glass or a non-giving surface. They should also be hand washed because things move in a dishwasher and they could chip or break as they're washed. These did an excellent job when testing them, but I have some concerns about their design which is why I am giving them 3.0 stars rather than 4 or 5. At a mere 5" long, the Santoku knife is short, and in this particular knife's case it's also a very narrow blade. When held properly there isn't much room for the fingers to safely grip the blade yet also avoid the edge. This could easily lead to being badly cut when using the knife properly. The plastic handle has a shape that guides the hand down towards the blade, so grasping the knife strictly by the handle when slicing or chopping isn't necessarily a safe option in this case either since there's no blade guard and the narrowness of the blade doesn't provide any blunted edge for fingers to rest on if your hand should slip as the handle becomes wet. There's just very little clearance between the end of the handle and the edge of the Santoku knife and the shape would make it all too easy for a user's fingers to slip and glide across the sharp edge leading to a potentially serious cut.So yes, these knives are sharp and lightweight, but the Santoku knife is too small for good control and has design issues which could pose serious safety concerns. There is no warranty information available either. 3.0 stars for sharpness, but frankly I would pass on this set and keep looking.I purchased this ceramic knife set at a reduced price for evaluation and review purposes.

high quality knives that are a fantastic addition to any set full of knives.
YES! I've looked around and see all kinds of sets and most are super colorful, not my style. I have a high quality set of knives but I've always wanted a quality paring knife. These are very sharp and fit comfortable in your hand. They are sharp and super effective in their purpose. Super clean style and nice sleeves.I'm quite proficient with knives and my advice is no matter your skill, start slower than your comfortable with. Also, I suggest washing them immediately after. You don't want something that sharp laying around or drying with other things in a drying rack. The best thing is that there at 2 high quality knives that are a fantastic addition to any set of knives. I'm thinking about getting a set for my two friends that love to cook.

Awesome knife gift set!
A gift for my mom for her birthday I think, I buy my parents a lot of um stuff. I wish I had a picture, but the box is awesome enough she keeps them in there. It took her less than a week to take a good sized chunk out of her thumb, these puppies are sharp! My parents are in love with the knife guards on them. If you have a cooking enthusiast on your shopping list or you just need a new knife you really can't go wrong with these two.

If you miss the old sudoku this is your replacement
Got this to replace an older one that I dropped one too many times. It came as a set and I love the little one for lots of little jobs. The knives are great porcelain knives.

Just got them and haven't used but once. Kind of taking some time to get used to. I used on a plastic cutting board and didn't get it to cut right. It's going to take me time.
