Sewing in the Montessori Classroom: a practical life curriculum

Thorough and Motivating!
I look forward to having an entire shelf of sewing materials and works based off of the recommendations of this book! I've already incorporated several of the ideas to measure my group's level of interest with positive results. As an adult who only recently began to dabble in sewing and embroidery, I am excited to get started on this. Thank you!

Great For Toddlers and Beginners
I am not very good at art, especially 3D media, but I wanted to pass down this tradition of knitting, embroidery, and making to my daughter and future kids as I have keepsakes from my grandma and aunts. While I read, I thought how the material in this book would also be good for me to do with my students. I could teach them the skills and then while they work, I could play an audiobook. I think this is something that people deep down enjoy and most would call it meditative. We'll see how it goes! Wish me luck.

A must for every classroom or Montessori home
This great book lays the foundation for the sewing curriculum in the Montessori Primary classroom and beyond. It’s giving me the confidence to be my best to guide the children to begin their fiber journey.

Exactly what every home needs to start sewing age 3+
Aimee leaves nothing out to explaining how to progress from age 3 and up in sewing. Â She gives lovely simple projects to get you going. Â I love the wording ideas to explain techniques in simple childrens terms and using stories along the way. Â As a homeschooling family I've struggled to find detailed step by step how-to. Â Well done Aimee, you have done an amazing job. Â Once again I feel inspired to do sewing with my kids as I have you to hand hold me along the journey. Â I'll be blogging about this as I go. Â Thank you! Tracey - http://dreambeforeyou.wordpress.com

I have in the past observed the enthusiasm and satisfaction enjoyed by children engaged in sewing/knitting projects
Sewing in the Montessori Classroom provides a clear pathway to meaningful work for young children. As a retired Montessori teacher, I have in the past observed the enthusiasm and satisfaction enjoyed by children engaged in sewing/knitting projects. I wish I had this resource book back then--it is an invaluable guide! Now, I am giving it to friends who spend time with their young grandchildren--one grandma who has started to use the book with her 3 year old granddaughter told me recently that Sally excitedly asks for "sewing" when visiting her house.

Do yourself a favor and get this book
This is an absolute must-have for Montessori classrooms. Aimee walks you through an easy to follow sequence to bring purposeful, complex handwork to your Montessori environment. I teach PL and always recommend that my Adult Learners add this to their collection of important resources.

my kids love to browse in the book
This book gives lots of crafty ideas using the Montessori philosophy, which is inspirational, my kids love to browse in the book, and search for something new to do. We created a special section for sewing on our shelves. Some of the activities seems redondante, that is why I give a four stars. Great activities, great approach, but somehow limited choices.

Great book. Great ideas
Great book. Great ideas. Will definitely be following the sequence when the new preschool year starts this coming Fall. The only downside is that I noticed alot of typos throughout the book. I did wonder to myself if anyone had proof-read it before it was sent for printing; otherwise, amazing book and I do recommend it to others.
