Famous Serial Killers
There were fourteen serial killers with three killing pairs featured in this book. These murderers were quite vicious and depraved monsters. Most are well known. But a few weren't. Therefore it was interesting reading about them though I felt so bad for their victims. I'm very happy these killers Cases are Closed. Yet justice wasn't always served such as in the case of Karla Homolka (co-killer with her husband, Paul Bernardo). I don't even like to read about that case.As long as you realize most of the cases presented have been described many other places, you will probably enjoy this book on serial killers cases that were actually solved. Since I don't like unsolved criminal cases, especially when there are multiple victims or even a little single innocent victim that was killed, I appreciate that these murderers were captured.

Great Book for Serial Killer Addicts
I enjoyed listening to the Audible version of this book. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was because I expected more narrative about each person. The best part of each description was when they were born and their childhood experiences. Many of us know that these special types of killers were being groomed in childhood either by parental abuse or abandonment. This book describes each serial killer as having a difficult childhood.

Clear and concise but extremely confronting for sensitive people.
Written in a clear and concise style by RJ Parker Phd, this book is not for the faint hearted as the author writes graphically of the evil deeds perpetrated by these deeply disturbed individuals. The extent of their depravity is surely an indictment of our human world as all killers had traumatic childhoods which grew into full blown psychosis as adults. At issue is human behaviour and this condition needs urgent attention to prevent a world of terminal psychosis.

Poor Sloppy Quality
I'm not even gonna waste my time writing a long review detailing why it's not good and deeply flawed. These are the things you need to know. Missing tons of vital and very important points and info. Even as a shorter look at these cases you can not leave out or just skip over that info. Plenty of errors in the details, so you'll be getting bad facts so you learn nothing. His personal commentary is unneeded and annoying. Don't buy it.

To short
This book was ok. I was hoping for a more in-depth look at some of the serial killers but I didn't get that. So all in all I had to just give this book 2 stars.

Interesting true facts that I didn't know about until now
The spelling could have been a little better. These true life stories are scary, haunting, and interesting facts that I didn't know about until now.

Interesting cases but poorly written
I knew of some of these killers and not others and found reading about them interesting. I liked the way the book was set out and the way each case was broken down into sections such as "background" and "murders" etc. However, the book was let down by the author's writing style. It appears to be written objectively and factually but it is full of author's opinion and phrases more suited to conversation. I have read crime books where the author gives their opinion for a very good reason (such as because they were a professional working the case or because they have a background in forensic psychology) and then it adds to the narrative and your understanding of what happened. However, in this book it's just annoying and a bit like you're hearing about it from a bloke in the pub. Overall, a well laid out book about some fascinatingly gruesome crimes but poorly written.

Just like your sat next to the author
The same straight fact style I enjoy RJ Parkers books for, this time with a little more of the authors comments through out the book as though you were sat next to him with him recounting the tales to you. Would be an excellent talking book (perhaps it is). We are treated to back ground of the case, killers involved without pages of wasted woffle to stride through with the satisfaction the cases are closed. Another fast paced read, I thoroughly recommend.

Engrossed
This was the first book I read by RJ Parker and I wasn't disappointed. I found out some new and interesting facts that I never knew before. I liked the way the book was written you could read it in 1 or 2 sittings (like I did hooked) or read a case at a time. I also found the authors notes amusing as I'm sure a lot of us have thought the same things when hearing about some of these crimes and the people who commit them.

Disappointing
An interesting collection of serial killer writings that are informative yet very vague. They all contain the basic outlines of their activities but are no where detailed enough...by this . I do not mean the "Gore" I mean it reads more like bullet points than biographical.

Self-publish, yes?
Basic summaries of some serial killer cases. I downloaded because I didn't have time to read a full length book. I found it a bit worrying that the author described the killers' actions without judgement until he talked about female killers and then got quite sarcastically caustic about their deeds. also made the coment ''Yuck'' when describing one killer's attempts to impregnate his wife despite suffering from a type of impotence. Not to his killing MO but to his matrimonial matters. Hmm.There was not a unified writing style. Very amateur.

A Good Read
I really enjoyed reading the book. Liked the way each story was set out and although these are known cases I did actually learn some new things about them. A good read and thanks to the author.

Great book Mr. Parker!
It' my first book I was reading from you. Incredible what humans can do to their fellows. Deep respect for the detectives, who has to chase these sick minds.

Bleh...
I have read extensively about every single one of these killers in this book and I will admit that I was not expecting to learn anything new, but it didn't stop me from picking this book up.Now, I really love reading about serial killers but this book? I hated.Simple reason: I don't want to read about R J Parkers view of how stupid people are for not catching them (because it certainly came across that way) or about how sick these people are. I wanted a factual crime book and I was expecting a story told from a non-bias point of view but what I got was a book that was cold hard sentences with no personality apart from the random authors notes which broke the flow of my reading and the name-calling ('scumbag').I don't want to read about Parkers personal view of these serial killers, I wanted to read about them, and somehow he managed to make it a little boring.Although essentially a great idea, it didn't work out, and I couldn't finish the last few pages.
