Amazing
I bought this nailer some time ago after careful reading of reviews on 18g pneumatic nailers. I got it and put it to work immediately. It is a great nailer leaving only a small hole which can be easily puttied over if desired, but since the holes are small, with most work I don't bother. I have used two different lengths of nails and both functioned flawlessly. It has never jammed on me and the nail magazine is robust. I really like how it is very simply made to the point where it looks cheap, but many of the forgings/castings are meant to last. So far I have used it on softwoods only, so I cannot speak on how it will handle oak. My only complaint is that it is small and light enough that a standard Goodyear rubber hose feels unwieldily hooked to it, so I might, and I bite my lip saying it, I might recommend using one of those cheaper coiled nylon hoses when using this gun. In soft wood, such as pine molding, the nails always seated below grade, which is what I want, but sometimes a holding nail which can later be removed is nice, so you may still be forced to set these by hand unless you want to change the depth setting. Overall I am trilled with this purchase.

Great Nailer
Just like my Grex 23 gauge pin nailer, this 18 gauge works perfectly... It definately cost more than most other brad nailers, but it makes up for it in performance... I've ran a couple thousand nails through it already and only had one jam and that's only because I hit a metal drywall corner bead... I've been using it for base board installation and its such a pleasure to cover up the pin size holes made by the nails... I really like the fact that the hammer doesn't strike the material - leaving only a nail size hole.... It's light weight and feels like its built to last... changing from sequential to rapid fire is as easy as moving a small lever... Oh and the lock out feature is awsome (So few guns have that and if you're like me, you'll shoot 1/2 a dozen holes before you realize you have no nails).... If you need a quality nailer, pay the extra $100 and get this one... You'll be very happy you did...

If a tool does not serve its purpose than the tool is useless!I got this gun in December to install moldings, and from the beginning it seemed the nails are not set very deep in any kind of wood, long or short nails!"The Posit-Fire Depth Control Dial has positive detents that prevent the adjustment setting from changing during use of the tool.As the dial is turned from one detent to the next, the depth setting is adjusted by approximately 0.008"(0.2mm).There are a total of 11 detent settings"That means a nail shoul be countersink at 2.2mm wich is almost 1/8"!that never happened to my tool!So I had to send it back to Hartville Tool after two months( and that only because I did not use the gun that much for the Holliday season to notice this sooner). They told me the tool needs to be tested and if they find there is nothing wrong with it there would be a 15% restocking fee if I want a refund or they can send it back to me( of course,I have to pay shipping)After a few testings, they tell me there is nothing wrong with the tool! Now if that's the case, then, as I started my review, the tool is useless for not being able to countersink the nails! If they said there is nothing wrong with the tool just to charge me the restocking fee( bought the tool for $198, cost me $13 to ship back, refunded only $163.80= I lost $47.20 in the tool)then Shame On Them! Overall,it was a bad experience for me!you don't spend $200 on a brad nailer every day,so when you do it,you expect a lot in return!i have to say the gun is very well built with a very nice feeling and a lot of features,I research this tool a lot before I decided I would by one expensive tool instead of couple cheap ones.

Great Nailer But…
I’ll start by saying im a Finish Carpenter by trade and this Nail gun is Great 8.5/10However ive had a couple of this and i ive had the same problem with all of them. Always misfiring the first shot due to a loose driver. I sent ot back and was fixed which is great but shouldn’t have that problem.

Amazing
This is an amazing product. I own several nailers. This is my second Grex unit. It is light years above any of it`s competitors. If you have never used a Grex pinner or nailer, then you just don`t know what you are missing. They are the Mercedes of nailers. They cost a little more than some of the others, but the old adage - " You get what you pay for " is so very true in just about everything that we buy. Especially in this age of disposable items. Nothing is ever repaired anymore . You just throw it away and buy another. I doubt very much that any Grex tool will ever need repaired. They are just built extremely well. They are so balanced in your hand. There is never a misfire. I would recommend ANY Grex product.

Total Gimmick, Worthless Gun
I am a finish carpenter by trade of 13 years and have used almost every model of 18g brad nailer, I was really looking forward to this one being as fantastic as the price tag and the proud product description. I used it for a while on some paint grade MDF jobs and thought it was decent but nothing to write home about, I put it back on the shelf after a job where I had door headers that were 5/4 Alder and the gun wouldn't sink even one 2'' brad even though I tried changing the pressure on the compressor and making sure I had the depth adjustment set to max on the gun. It had been sitting for quite some time and I decided to give it a try again recently, so I oiled it up and on day one the driver broke at the base, after looking into buying a new driver for near $50 I think this gun will hit the recycling bin.I have bought several of the dewalt DW-FP12231 now for my crew and myself and am very pleased with them, about every six months some little part like a driver o-ring or the bumper will break, but we use these guns all day, almost every day, so it seems minimal to me and the parts are very cheap, not to mention the gun itself is $71.

Drives nails easily in
Bought this because I was sick of punching nails in with other name brands for half the price so I decided to try out this premium one and I don’t regret it. The amount of time I save from not punching nails in by hand for an entire house or basement is we’ll worth it and pays for itself down the line.I charge to fill the nail holes in if customer wants so truly a big help, and I’m talking about finish carpentry,so baseboards, door trim and window trim. You won’t regret it,well worth it,just adjust the compressor pressure to comfortable pressure and no that didn’t work with the other brands, because I’m not overloading the pressure, should never pass 110 pressure on gauge for pin nailers. This gun runs good on about 105 psi.at one point I was almost at 120 for other brands I said screw this.but I was buying another gun after that so I said screw it and brought it to that and still had some nails pop.and that wasn’t even hard wood and cheap trim material

Superb
Superb. This is my third purchase did this unit. The previous one had a air ring thingy failure but that most likely my fault for using high pressure. Grex will fix that one anyway. Their customer service is amazing.
