This item is awful. Took it out of the box and plugged it in and it doesn't even turn on. It is passed the return date, so now I am out 40 dollars. Complete GARBAGE! Beware, don't buy under any circumstances!

So far so good. Bought this as a replacement for a 2 yr old Staples shredder that died on me(power switch). The opening for feeding paper is about ^"= half sheet of paper size. It runs smoothly and has a small footprint. Will write more after I use it for awhile. Great product for the cost- feels solid.NOTE: one yr later...it doesn't shred!! Now the paper gets caught, keeps revolving in the blades and doesn't reverse!! I've cleaned it out, used lubricant sheets and it still does shred right. Didn't buy a warrantee, but will next time!!

Pros: Quiet, compactCons: The bin is tiny, you'll only be able to shred like 5 pieces of mail before it fills up. If you accidentally overfill the bin and pull it out, your shreds will spill everywhere making a mess. It's also kind of slow.Beware, this is mail shredder, it does not fit a regular sized piece of paper, so you'll have to fold the paper in half.

Works great

I ordered this shredder for my desktop because I was so tired of my bulky, old and noisy shredder. The description stated that it is 6X7X11but it is larger. More like 8X9X12. It's larger than I thought it would be, and at first I was disappointed. But after seeing it work I changed my mind right away. I still have it sitting on top of my desk and have gotten used to the bigger look of it. I am very happy with it now. It is a strong shredder and a quiet one too. It's true that I have to tear some pieces of paper in half (lengthwise) to fit it into the slot, but that is so easy to do!!! I usually only shred the part of my mail and papers that have my personal info on them anyway. I will admit that you have to keep an eye on how much shredding is building up in the bin, but it is more than the 5 pieces of paper that was stated in another review. I am so satisfied with the size of the individual shreds and love the quietness of it. This is a wonderful shredder and I am so glad that I bought it. I will cope with the size being larger than I thought because it's such a well built and good looking shredder. Now that I have it, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Nice -- it shreds and works great, quiet and fits on the shelf in my panty perfectly! I like that it has the option of turning it completely off without unplugging it and you can also leave it in "ready" mode if you use it frequently. This replaced a very old personal shredder that I had. I hope this one will work for many more years!
