About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words.Safety, music, headsetHow did you come up with the idea for this product? We used to doze off as students at the University of Pennsylvania, and wanted to create a device to stay awake in class. What we quickly realized was that one group of people had higher stakes in staying alert - drivers. We decided to build Vigo for drivers to keep them safe on the road. What makes your product special?Vigo is the first product to create a driver drowsiness detection system that's easy to use, confortable to wear and affordable. What has been the best part of your startup experience? We love it when we receive emails from users who tell us how Vigo is helping them stay safe at the wheel. Whether it is for professional drivers who are on the road more than 10 hours a day, or for people with narcolepsy who tend to doze off while driving, or for those buying Vigo for their loved one to ensure they are safe on the road, the outpour of emails from people who are happy with what we have creative is extremely fulfilling.

Ready for Prime Time?
Someone's review above noted they had a large head and had problems getting the device to work. I had the same experience. Obviously some people can get it to pick up their eye blinks, but after many hours of trying with the tip in every position imaginable, I got it to register my eye blinks once, and that was briefly. Couldn't get it to work on my wife's eyes either. If you got it to register your blinks, keeping the tip in that position relative to your eye with the ear gel and strap seems almost impossible. I watched the help videos and read the suggestions on the web site, but to no avail. At this point I would say purchase is a gamble; it may work for you, but there is a good chance it will not. Hopefully they are working to improve the product, in which case it might be prudent to wait for the Mark II version. It's a needed product, and I would be willing to pay more for something that worked, but the only similar device I found were glasses from Australia that cost $4,000 which seems a bit pricey.

Great if it works
This product does what it claims to be able to do, but not for everyone. I had a really difficult time getting it to fit my face, and even with lots of emails for support it still doesn't work for me. The product is not going to fit everyone, particularly if your eyes and ears are not at the same level and/or farther apart. If you can find someone whom it does fit, they will enjoy this product during any lengthy commute or tired commute to/from work. You don't have to be a trucker to make this device useful, you just have to be able to get it to fit and stay in place.

Garbage. Not worth your time and effort.
I was so excited to receive this, but it was a total flop. My messages to support were never answered. I have a larger head size, and none of the posted fixes or techniques were remotely helpful. Also, even if it did work, their mounting system to your ear is cumbersome and not stable. It does not stay in position. Hopefully their new app update is more user friendly and practical, because their original one was pretty useless and annoying. Yes I have a large head, but this unit didn't work on my petite girlfriend and her tiny head either. The worse thing is to be constantly ignored by "support."Bottom line is it is a piece of garbage. Save your time and hard earned money

It really helps keep me awake!
Pros:1. I like the design of the device, it looks futuristic2. Audio quality is great3. The vibrations are really a shocker when it turns onCons:1. The plastic ear loop hurts my ears after wearing it for a long period of time2. The calibration phase on the app was hard to use. The videos online were helpful though3. I would suggest having more built-in alarms as the current ones are too soft for me

Great piece of technology
Great piece of technology. Pricing is fair based on capabilities and is perfect for people with long commutes. I use it everyday on my drive to and from work and I highly suggest it.
