Hotspear Swim Buoy Dry Bag for Open Water Swimmers and Triathletes Swimming Tow Float Durable Nylon

I have 3 of these and prefer the original version. So far, I'm not a huge fan of the 'selfie window' version as the air chamber bloats out the cel phone window, making touchscreen operation a bit difficult, but not impossible. Selfie version also has only one grab handle and seems smaller. But, it works fine with my Samsung S9, which is connected via Bluetooth to an altec H20 speaker. I'm about 280 pounds and swim few hundred meters several times a week in a deep lake-it lasted two summers so far! Now I can do sprints and rest when I get winded. Or just relax and flooooaaaaat. Plus, you can fit lots of stuff in the dry sack. Brilliant!

Bought this primarily to store valuables when in the water at the breach and not worry about them being stolen. Worked as intended and quality seemed very good. I placed phone and other items in a waterproof pouch and placed the pouch in the dry bag. I did not trust it to be totally dry for my phone. It actually was dry, but the waterproof pouch made it easy to remove items that stayed dry. The bag also provided a bit of security while in the ocean. Not a life preserver, but you can certainly rest on it for a little buoyancy if you need it. i.e., leg cramp. Some drag on you if it is windy, but not much.Note: the bag while fully inflated on land, seemed to deflate rapidly when in the water. Maybe the change in temp. So it required another inflation in the water and then it worked fine. It stayed inflated when tested on land, so it must be due to the temp change.

I like that this dry bag is nice and bright making it very visible, It works as a good flotation device if you need to. I have swam with the cord wrap clasped around my waist, then the buoy floats down by my feet/lower legs, which in itself, takes some getting used to because I try not to kick it while swimming. Most importantly, it is a safety piece of equipment and I feel secure having it with me while swimming lengthy distances.There is also an inner secure bag for your car keys which is a great handy part of this buoy.

We just took these to Maui and they allowed us to snorkel for hours. They kept our gear dry and were great to hold on to to float when we wanted to take a little rest. You don't even sense you're wearing it. They allowed us to snorkel for well over an hour at a time. Even better, they allowed us to spot each other quickly when we surfaced so that we didn't get separated. I can't say enough good things about this product. It's incredibly well designed and sturdy and makes snorkeling fun and safe.

Loved this swim pack! I previously got the windowless one, which was great in keeping things dry, but this selfie-window one is quite useful. I was surprised because I can take good quality pictures now while swimming in the sea and I didn't expect the photos to be as good with double transparent cover on the bag's window. I will say, using the phone through the window is a bit hard. I have to leave the screen on my iphone unlocked so I can use it with the bag. But, that's an easy thing to do. Overall, very happy with the bag!

I used to swim with my steel car key, but nowadays, car keys are electronic and I didn't feel comfortable leaving my keys on the beach so I got this. I have used it in the ocean three times and so far have not experienced any leaking. Just to be safe I place my phone, keys, etc. in a Ziploc bag. While I can't see myself in the ocean, I found it is much easier to spot other ocean swimmers who have swim buoys compared to those who don't. The buoy is attached to a belt you wear around your waist and sometimes can get in your way as you swim, especially if you are just floating or slowing down as it will bump into you and catch you off guard. I always rinse it off after swimming to reduce wear and tear. I would recommend this not just for open water swimmers, but for those who would rather not leave their belongings exposed and left behind on the shore.

Just started OWS(Open Water Swimming) in early 2019 and like this one much better due to the clear window for your iPhone or other items to hold. I have used this in a 10k OWS and put a couple of gel packs within. Due to the current you may find your hand hitting this at times but not going to knock the product. However you can purchase rectangle or more elongated swim buoys but they won’t have the carry pocket.

Excelente product, but belt hurts. Could be larger and smoother.My daughter is a 15yrbold Open Water Marathon swimmer and we bought it.for 2-3hr work outs in the ocean.

I've been using this product for almost 6 months and the tow float is fantastic. I inflated it when I got it and haven't had to do it since - it hasn't lost any air. It keeps items within dry - granted I put keys/phone in a waterproof pouch within but all that gets in are splashes from my popping my water thermometer back in whilst in the water. I have had so much gratitude from paddleboarders, etc. for the added visibility and it gives me security when especially when in choppier waters or when swimming solo. The dry bag being accessible during a swim is great if you want to access anything - spare goggles, etc. I have heard of other brands leaking air and letting water in but after 6 months of use, 2-7 times a week (work and tide dependent) this is as good as new. Add to that efficient and excellent customer service and you really cannot go wrong. Buy now!

The window in the front developed a hole after one use and therefore the item is no longer functional.

Started to leak through the window after about 10 swims. Unfortunately just as the returns window closed on Amazon :-(

Pleased with this purchase. I do open water swimming and saw others with similar stuff but this one has a window so I can see if my wife has arrived to meet up etc she just texts me

I would like to return this item. It does not stay inflated.
