DeWalt DW2721 No.8 Drill Flip Drive Replacement Bit

I didn't realize I was already getting 2 in a set, so I ordered 2 (sets) and have 4. They fit the drill fast insert device perfectly with no effort to install the bit. Looks like I'm set for years with replacements which I am sure to break. Can't beat the price!

How is this a #8 drill? A #8 drill is .1990" these are more like 1/8". In the description they can't decide if it's 8mm or #8, which it is neither. They definitely need to clarify the description. It also states it's 5.75" long

The product description does not indicate that this item includes two bits on the cardboard blister pack. These bits are specifically for the Dewalt Flip Drive accessory that mounts on your drill chuck for quickly changing (flipping) from a countersink pilot drill bit (this one) to the screwdriver bit on the "flip side." The countersink portion on the Flip Drive that accepts these replacement bits uses two hex screws to center this drill bit in the countersink accessory. One side of the shank on this bit is flattened so that the hex screw that presses against that side will prevent the drill bit from slipping and spinning in the countersink. The hex screw opposite the flat side tightens against the round side of the shank. The reason I give 4 stars is because it is really a pain trying to get the two hex screws tightened perfectly to align the drill bit absolutely centered, i.e. NO tip wobble, in the countersink. You need to be patient and tweak these two screws until you have a steady drill bit tip. Otherwise the wobble will inveritably cause the bit to break when in use. It would be nice if these bits were longer. At their current length with maximum extension in the countersink they work great for pilot holes for 2" - 2 1/4" deck screws. For longer deck screws you will need to go with a standard long shank bit and then countersink the hole separately. NOTE: These are not standard drill bits due to the flattened side of the shank which would not allow the three fingers of a drill chuck to grab the bit evenly.

These work as expected and fit the Dewalt quick change adapter perfectly. My only complaint is that I need to buy 4 at a time because they break quite often.
