Bored outta ma mind
If I wanted a lesson on making bootleg whiskey I would’ve watched a YouTube video. This Book was fundamentally a tutorial on exactly that.Reading this book was hard because it, bored me to pieces with the nonstop info dump about how illegal whiskey was made and disseminated. I’ve literally skipped so many pages and yet at 85% it continues to drone on and on about forgettable things that added nothing spectacular to this tale. There wasn’t much character development between Hannah and Javier. All they did was go around in circles and tells the reader about whiskey and unnecessary family history. There were basically one and a half flavorless love scenes that just wasn’t steamy enough. And I’m still wrapping my brain cells after reading this book of when and how the two characters fell in love.I unfortunately wouldn't recommend this book. It’s uninteresting, insipid, tedious and offer no legitimacy.I will definitely cross this author off my list because I’m not interested in anything else she wrote.

Completely enjoyable and bonkers
Who knew that moonshine could be so incredibly sexy? Well, it is when you’re reading about Hannah with her brown skin, curly hair and thick thighs and butt. And add in Javier with his tan skin, lush beard and gorgeous body, and you have an associates to friends to lovers story set in the hills of Kentucky and Tennessee where the underdog wins the day!I read this book because Talia Hibbert recommended it and I should have known not to doubt her. It was sexy and sweet and hot. Highly recommend.

High Heat, Marriage of Convenience, Not to Be Missed!
I started this one months ago and then got distracted by other books on deadline. Don't be a dummy like me, grab this one and finish it in a day!!This high heat, marriage of convenience between two rival whiskey/moonshiner families is not to be missed! After the death of her mother, Hannah Hawkins is grappling with her new leadership role and cuts a deal with the Meza family to marry their son and shore up their positions versus the Wards. What starts as a short-term business arrangement morphs into a relationship as both Hannah and Javier recognize their attraction.I loved seeing Hannah fully come into her own as head of the family and Javier evolve in the man he wants to be.Set in Harlan, Kentucky, my only point of reference for Harlan came from Justified. So in my head, this is the story that was playing out in parallel with the show, but we just never got to see it on screen.

Awesome book from a new to me author
This is definitely a book that got sold to me via social media. I've never heard of this author before, and I definitely am going to read more of her work. This one was a cool modern arranged marriage book but also about moonshiners? What? That's cool! This one was kind of a slow burn romance where the two try to figure things out. Especially because they DON'T want to be married at all. At times I was so frustrated by the slowness but it was so worth it when things started to heat up.Also there is only one bed at one point! That's like my catnip. I love it so much.I really enjoyed this book and I'm definitely going to read more from this author down the line.

Not bad but not great
Solid 3.5. This one is hard for me to review. I read this book off and on for probably about a month. Normally it takes me two days. The characters are fine, even enjoyable, and the story is different and interesting enough that it should’ve held my attention more, but it was just kind of slow. For most of the book nothing really happened.Seeing Hannah and Javier navigate their marriage as their feelings grow and they work to keep the Wards away is a fine read but if you’re expecting a fast paced book this isn’t it.Still definitely worth checking out!

A steamy marriage of convenience
Hannah and Javier are members of rival families competing for the illegal moonshine industry in their community. The families have been deadly enemies for so long, but when outsiders threaten everybody, they must come together. What is the best way to seal the new alliance? Hannah and Javier get married.Hannah wants it to be business only, but Javier wants this new marriage, his second, to be an improvement over his first marriage, the one that ended in divorce. Business only will never be enough for him, when he finds Hannah incredibly attractive.

wish I liked it
so dry and long winded. the heroine got on my nerves. I've read romances with families feuding, where liquor is king and I could learn and enjoy while falling into the romance. not here. this didn't work or come together for me. the cover really sucked me in though with that hottie on the front drinking.

A page turner!!
Hannah had heart. A headstrong, fierce and independent woman. She certainly didn’t not make it easy for Javier but he was a gentle man who stood his ground when needed (not to mention he was sexy as hell. I damn near had a crush on the damn fictional character). Anyways, the author did a wonderful job developing an honest well-paced relationship between the two. This Novel was a very refreshing read, it was my first by the author and certainly will not be my last. Not only was this story wonderful, the author’s clean writing made giving the book a five star deserving.

Hannah is THE Heroine I never knew I needed.
When I got the notification of the 2nd book by new author Jodie Slaughter I was fully on board to get thrown into a new sexy dark world full of bad boy bad talking leading man and an irresistible smart and spunky leading lady. Well... White Whiskey ain't that and I'm a better human for it. I thought that Callum from her previous book was my ultimate book boyfriend but I didn't know I needed the book husband that I got in Javier Meza. He is sweet without being soft. He is sexy in all his gruff stubble glory and he's a CHEF too. Well, sign me up for all of that but wherein Ms. Slaughter's Callum was my favorite character in her last book, Hannah of this book is the modern-day country girl heroine that made this book for me. From her "not unwrapping her hair before 8 am for NOBODY" to every mention of her womanly pooch, I related her to her in a way that I haven't with a character since I've begun this journey into the romance drama world. Her development throughout after being put into a position of leadership and dealing with expectations from her "family" was very real and relatable. The book itself was such a fast read I was actually mad when I read the words epilogue. Jodie's talent for connecting the story in a way that the drama of the battle of the moonshiners and the sexy build of the relationship is phenomenal. I thoroughly enjoyed this "little" book.

Enjoyable and sexy read!
I couldn't put the book down. Told from the point of view of the two main characters, I enjoyed the story that threw them together, the sexual tension between the characters and the steamy sex scenes!
