Functional and attractive
Relatively easy to assemble with the diagram included. A nice-looking piece of furniture in addition to being very functional.

This is NOT the Frontgate laptop caddy you're looking for
My experience is the same as those posting negative reviews years ago. I have one of the actual Frontgate laptop caddies and love it (I ordered directly from Frontgate), and since the picture looked exactly like the Frontgate item I own, and it said it was MADE by Frontgate, I foolishly assumed that it was the actual same Frontgate item - I figured it had been upgraded since those older negative reviews here, so went ahead and ordered it for my son. I was wrong: the color is not the same, the metal bars and connectors are not as sturdy as the original, the wood surface arrived chipped in one place showing unfinished wood, there were places we had to knock off extra crud from sloppy welds, and the laptop portion of it slants downhill from right to left, so the laptop may slide off the side - no fix for that. Although it is still a sort of okay table, it is not at all as I expected, and I am disappointed. We have to put the laptop someplace else when we're done using it for fear that it will slide off the left side. My original Frontgate caddy is 2 or 3 years old and still sturdy and I love it. I will only order this directly from Frontgate in the future, if and when they ever offer it again - doesn't show up on their web site at all anymore.

Just OK
I bought this upon recommendation of a friend. I use it occasionally but it keeps sliding down under the weight of my laptop. I was really disappointed that the caddy is so unstable and had a chip in the wood top. It also is tilted making my laptop feel like it is leaning downhill. I would not recommend this product. I waited to long to assemble it or I would have returned it within the return period.Find a caddy in a local store so that you can try it out.

An innovative caddy - not worth the cost
Unfortunately , even wheb assembled, it leans abiut 1" low to the left. I had to put a 1" pice of plywood to even it out. It could use a better means to tighten aqs I almost had to use slipjoint plyers yo tighten the pieces enough o stay up. I wouldn't recommend this piece of crap to anyone without owbing a full woodshop to put it together akong wil a lot of experience and patience. I may be able to modify it to work better or it may just wind up in the trash bin.

Great look and feel.
Perfect for what I needed. Took a little bit to put together and it's really important to have the base directed exactly as it's pictured. For whatever reason, I didn't and it would fall over pretty easily. Once I realized why I was an idiot, it worked perfectly. Ha!

good service
received as ordered except the hardware did not come with the shipment. I called and email and received a call back with hours and also an email noting I would receive the parts required via 2 day service. I did receive the parts within 2 days and assembly was easy and unit is good and sturdy.

Absolute waste of money! HATE IT!!
Aside from being packaged nicely for shipping, I do not have a good thing to say about this product. It does not go together well at all. I had to use a hammer to get the sidebar to go into the stand. The handles with the attached screws that support the table on the upright pole do not thread into their holes very well, making the whole thing seem VERY flimsy. The finish on the inside of the table is undone. It came missing a screw that attaches the table to the frame, so I have to call the company to get one. I thought I would save a few bucks by ordering from here and not Frontgate directly (since it was eligible for Amazon Prime) however now I am stuck with a complete piece of crap that will be more trouble to dismantle and ship back to the company than it is worth. I am very sorry that I tried to be a bargain hunter. As I always say, CHEAP TURNS OUT TO BE EXPENSIVE! Boy am I disappointed!!!!

Mis-represented
I bought this item based on the picture and description. This leads you to believe that you are getting the same unit sold by Frontgate directly. There are caddies sold that look almost exactly like this one except the tilting mechanism is very simple. Just a tube that attaches directly to the top, which slides over a rod with the tilt controlled by tightening a knurled knob. If you look closely at the picture that accompanies this unit and the one on the Frontgate site you will see what looks to be a more involved tilting mechanism. I bought this unit as it has this description:1)Upgraded tilt mechanism on computer cart eliminates overtilting - No upgraded tilt mechanism on mine. A very simply mechanism that will probably require constant tightening until it doesn't hold anymore.2)New integrated spring assist for the up/down movement - No spring assist at all. You raise either side yourself and it's held in place by tightening a knurled knob. I can see this coming loose over time.3) Powder coated base - looks more like plain black enamel paintWelds are not even in places and look shoddy.Package arrived in good condition with all parts. Assembly was easy.Strangely enough the shipping carton was labeled as containing glass which led me to believe that the wrong item was shipped but I think that was just to try and get more careful handling by the shipper.Interestingly enough, at the time I placed my order in mid-December, the actual Frontgate site was back-ordered until January 12th. I ordered through Amazon from a site called H & M Shop. As described above they used the same picture and pretty much the same description as the unit sold directly from Frontgate. The caddy sold by H&M was manufactured in 2009 according to the shipping carton. Either they are misrepresenting the unit sold by them to be the same one sold by Frontgate or they are possibly selling an older discontinued unit without the upgraded tilting mechanism and spring assist.
