Authentic ? Really?
I was really looking forward to the book. Especially since it promised "Authentic Recipes"Authentic Okinawan Diet? (pages 7 + 8) Really ? With extra virgin olive oil, pancake mix, flour - cake variety, mayonnaise and so on....Truly disappointing!

Disappointed
I lived in Okinawa for 23 years. During that time I often made late night runs to King taco which is famous for its taco rice and I believe the origin of this cross cultural dish. The taco rice in this book is nothing like what you’d find anywhere on the island.As I went through this book I found, more often than not, that the recipes were interpretations rather than authentic.I learned to make many dishes while living there and was excited to get my hands on the dishes I had never had the time or opportunity to learn.I was disappointed with this book’s recipes time and time againThese are decent recipes if you don’t know any better and have no expectations which is why I gave it 3 stars instead of 0 but authentic - not a chance in my opinion

Yikes. I doubt the Okinawans like being associated with Japan. Maybe present them as more autonomous.

Inhalt:Kurze Einführung in die Okinawa-Diät und 25 Rezepte ohne vermischung mit der U.S.-Küche.Leider alles in U.S.-Einheiten (Ausgeschrieben).Kein Glossar für besondere Zutaten.Optik:Angenehme Schriftgröße.Bilder in Schwarz-Weiß.Schrift:Leider ist der Schreibstiel nerfig. Man braucht nicht hinter jeden Fertigmix oder -Soße "Your Favorite Kind", hinter Eier/Gemüse "Medium in Size", etc. zu schreiben. Und es reicht Sesamöl zu schreiben statt Öl, Sasam Variante.
