I feel like it's wrong to enjoy something this much.
Probably one of the most enjoyable book series I've ever had the pleasure to hold in my hands. Gorgeous artwork. Original in concept. A guilty please of reading someone else's mail and wanting so much to help them find one another. Don't miss this.

Nice used books!
My books came quicker than expected, packaged nicely, no odor and I would definitely order from them again. I'd like to visit in person for that matter.

Unusual Book Art Translates into High Entertainment
Why go for the entire Griffin and Sabine trilogy when you haven't seen any of the books yet? Believe me, experience (this is more than reading) one and you WILL want the others. Go for the box.Bancock, an illustrator who has produced pop-up books in the past has created a picture book for adults that's a guilty pleasure. The concept is built about a suspenseful series of correspondence between Griffin, a London postcard illustrator, a Sabine, a postage stamp artist residing in the South Pacific. There is mysticism, romance, a little Jung, a little Freud. The text is conveyed on the illustrated postcards and in letters that are tucked into actual envelopes. It is a tour d'force of ideas and illustration. A grouch might say it is glib or slick; that's the grouch's problem. This is for everyone who would like to be surprised and entertained in an off-beat way.

Fast and Accurate
Got this series of books that I remembered from years ago and they are all in great shape and as advertised. I will buy from this vendor again, for sure.

Mystery and Art, An intriguing Combination...
This is a fascinating concept and story. I love peeking into the correspondence of two spirited souls as the mystery of their communications unfolds. The unique artwork is, singly and collectively, worthy of deep study and contemplation. What a marvelous collection of books to keep or gift! Thank you, Nick Bantock!

This is my second purchase for this trilogy.
I was introduced to the Griffin & Sabine Trilogy many years ago when a friend loaned me her copy. I treasured the read so much I purchased my own boxed set. Subsequently I "gave" my set to my daughter-in-law...so now I've bought it again. Being able to purchase a previously owned copy through amazon.com saved me money; the set didn't have a "box" but that was a non-issue for me; the condition of the set was exactly as advertised and delivery was expeditious. And yes, I've read the trilogy again. The imagination used by Mr. Bantock when putting together the story and its presentation is brilliant in my opinion. But then, I've quite an imagination of my own.

It's all there (except..)
This is the entire trilogy about a lonely artist who makes up a pen pal for himself and over time finds her becoming more and more real. The story is told through the finely drawn letters and postcards that pass between them. As to the except above, Bantock later wrote a 4th volume (The Pharos Gate) in the series that gives it a more definite ending. This boxed set is the trilogy, you'll have to get number 4 on your own.

A great series but beware
This isn't really a book, more of an art project. But I think back on it so the impact was definitely there. One caveat: there are more than three books and the others get ridiculously expensive even second hand, and most used vendors don't check if all the letters and post cards are included.

meraviglioso

Beguiling. . .
I received this trilogy a few days ago and am not disappointed. I love it : the handwritten postcards and letters, the typewritten letters, the artwork . . . AND being able to take letters out of real envelopes and be downright nosey without upsetting anyone ! The story, part romance, part mystery is totally absorbing. My only sadness is that the books are rather short-but then, that only makes them more tantalizing ! I've read the first two and will read the last one VERY SLOWLY, savouring each page.
