Bought these as a calorie source while staying active as a family outdoors. First appearance is dry, but once it touches your tongue it becomes oily. Not thirst-provoking either. Kid approved! But now I may need to buy more. LOL. Children were convinced that they were cookies and I was happy knowing they ate a high calorie source while staying active with multiple nutrients. Tastes like a very slight lemon sugar cookie overall. Very happy!

These are the best I've seen and tasted and an excellent value as well. The hint of lemon really makes them actually tasty. I could easily include these as an everyday food item LONG TERM as long as there was other food available for some variety...If I had to eat these and nothing else, I think I could go as long as I had to. I'd say a month easy, they are that tasty compared to the other survival bricks. I even use these in a pinch now when I don't want to deal with cooking, don't have time, on the go etc...so I highly recommend them as a great utility food.

Bought one individually before to taste test and the taste isnt bad. It's betteer than other survival food I tried. The box it came in could have been taped up better but everything inside seems to have survived shipping well and shipping was timely. They are made new like the individual one I bought. Mine were made in October 2015 and are good untill October 2020. It is a case of 10 as described. 1 pouch is a 3 day ration and there is 10 pouches in a 30 day supply. A case of 10 isnt very big which makes them easy to store in a closet or something and a box weighs about 10 lbs.

Great ration to keep in the truck. Flavor is not great, but it is an emergency ration. what do you expect? Great product

In the photo, as you can see, the two on the left are properly vacuum sealed. The two on the right however, are not vacuum sealed. I bought this pack of 10 bars. 7 of the 10 were not sealed properly, so I’ve got 3 that I know will last the guaranteed 5 years. These other 7 were made in October of 2020, so they have been exposed to oxygen for almost 4-5 months as of the making of this review. I’m extremely disappointed, and would recommend to go with a different brand. Now I will have to reach out to the company and see how to handle this situation.

For what it is, the taste is actually not bad. Like shortbread with a hint of lemon, actually pretty good. Sadly, the packaging is not the strongest, or perhaps, they need to ship it better. Not my specialty, all i know is I ordered a set for both me and two friends. each had at least one that the packaging was no long air tight, one had more. While the bar is good, they need to maybe not just throw them in with no padding in the box.Might not sound like the biggest deal, considering the bulk i ordered, but nothing about how it was handled or the situation says it may not happen in smaller batches, or replacement batched for the damaged one, and that can and should be taken into account.

High caloric cookies. This beats having to resort to cannibalism in a time of starvation. (The Donner Party would have appreciated these back then). They taste good & keep us alive in hard times. Nuff said.

As stated in most of the low-star reviews, check your product immediately after you receive it. I ordered Jan 2018 and the bars that arrived were manufactured 4/2016, so almost 2 of the 5 year shelf life were already burned through which defeats the point of emergency bars. Also, one of the bars came with its vacuum seal failed so I assume that one wasn't even safe to eat. Just sent it back. Otherwise the product itself is great - just inventory management seems poor.
