I've been using my chainsaw a lot for cutting down trees on our property and taking it to a shop to have it sharpened was inconvenient. It also cost me $15 each time they did it. Thought I'd try this out. Super convenient and effective!! After I sharpened my chain saw, I offered to sharpen my neighbor's and he couldn't believe how quickly and how improved his chain saw blade was. I will definitely continue to use this on my chain saw.

Didn't work at all. Don't buy this. I've been cleaning up my yard and cutting down old/dead trees as well as live ones that are crowding out other trees. As a consequence, I've been going through lots of chains and have needed to sharpen them often using the traditional method (i.e.: with a file). I saw this item and thought it was too good to be true. It was. I should've heeded the warning that if something looks too good to be true, it usually is. The only way to sharpen a chain is the traditional way. Sorry. Don't waste your money or get your hopes up.

For this product to work correctly, you MUST have a chain bar that has TWO holes in it. Mine doesn't and it only quazi works. To the vendor's credit, when I went back and read all of the details, it did describe it as for a two-hole bar.

It could be user error on my part, but I feel that this product does not sharpen evenly and even dulls out the blade. It creates a lot of sparks which in my experience means bad things for a chainsaw blade. Like I said it could be my fault or I don’t have the correct chain to work with this product. In my opinion it’s not worth buying, sharpen your chain the old fashioned way.

bought this for dewalt electric chain saw with oregon chain. the chain bar didnt have the 2nd hole to put both pegs in to make it work, so I drilled a 2nd hole the bar. Then the abrasive didn't seem to line up with the chain, so I had to stick a bunch of duct tape strips into the mechanism to make it line up well with the chain. Now it seems to work, but no way to know how this will work over the long term.

simple and effective. I did have to make the front hole on the bar a bit bigger by drilling it out. Once the devise is locked on the bar, start the saw and push gently to the floor. Once the chain touches the whet stone it will visually create some sparks. Hold that position with very little force for 3 to 5 seconds and you are done.

An absolute waste of your money. Would not sharpen my chain at all. I tried it several times with different pressure when grinding and it never made it cut any better. Not even a minor improvement. A very big waste of your money.

Very easy to understand and use. Amazing price. Far better then a lot of them out there. Makes life easier now i can sharpen my blades instead of just buying new ones. Saves me a ton of money
