Wellmade boots that need to come in half sizes
Recently I needed to replace a beloved 35-year old pair of Sorel boots that had not worn out after years of use in Northern MN, Western NY, and a few winters in the mountains of Kosovo but had simply become too small for comfort due to my foot size changing due to age. :/I planned on getting another pair of Sorels but, as I am wont to do, did some research on several brands and was disappointed to learn of all the quality control problems there are with Sorel boots since Columbia Sportswear took over the brand. As such, I started to look at the Kenetrek Northern 10 in. and the Schnee's Extreme 10 in. as possible alternatives. In the end, I ordered the Kenetrek Northern because the price was about $80 less than the Schnee's.I ordered (from an Amazon partner) the Northern in a size 11, as well as a size 12 so that I could compare and then send back whichever pair did not fit. My foot size is between 11 and 11.5. Kenetrek does not make the Northern in half sizes, which is a shame because I had to send both pairs back. My toes were pinched in the 11s and my feet swam in the 12s (wearing a medium-weight smartwool sock in both cases). It is a shame because the quality of these boots seemed excellent in all other respects, which is why I gave a 4-star rating. At this point, I will probably buy the Schnee's which do come in half-sizes. EDIT: Mea culpa, Schnee's don't come in half sizes either. :)

Great premium boot warm waterproof and comfortable
Got them after my brother bought a pair and kept raving about them ,i was going to buy schnees but after his delight with them and being 200 dollars cheaper I sprung for them .I am very pleased as i have alot of trouble with my feet and these are great .The fit is snug like a good hiking boot ,recommend you wear them around for a few days to break them in after that they are perfect. I did do a good waterproofing with the recommended treatment and used them all hunting season. I highly recommend them,my only problem with the boot is that they do run small wish they came in half sizes

Will not buy this boot again
This boot is not worth what you have to pay for it. Lacrosse Outpost boot is just as good if not better at 1/3 the price. The boot liner is of good quality, the boot itself is hard as a rock inside and not comfortable to walk in. If you put the Kenetrek liner inside a Lacrosse Outpost boot you will have an excellent boot.

size 12 smaller than expected
currently own 2 pairs of all leather kenetrek boots that fit perfectly. I order a 12 in this boot and it was too snug, even with thin socks.

Mine leaked, test yours before you take them out!
They have a comfortable fit and I like the removable inserts. I wore them to the office for 3 weeks to break them in for my trip. They are not the best for side hilling and the heal became uncomfortable if not very tightly laced but those are acceptable in my view. On the trails they felt solid except they are very slick on wet rocks. The real problem is, they soaked right through the first puddle i stepped in more than about 3 inches. I had a week in the back country with soaked feet because i failed to test them before I left. I guess shame on me for trusting the name rather than testing before i left. Will start the warranty process tomorrow. I cant give more than one star for a water proof product that is not water proof. Very disappointed.

Good boots, sizing questions.
These are great boots. They are well made and have great materials. I ordered size 12 and they were to small with a heavy pair of wool socks. I will be ordering a 13, hopefully they will work.
