Nixplay 2K Smart Digital Photo Frame 9.7 Inch - Share Moments Instantly via App or E-Mail

Bought for my mother - has really kick-started her into technology. She has found it so easy to use. Bringing family photos into her living room has added an extra dimension to her life.

I paid £200 for this photo frame - not cheap! - on the basis I could store as many photographs as I wanted on it. Nixplay has now introduced a mandatory subscription if I want to continue using the photoframe with more than 0.5GB of photographs. 0.5GB is puny! A typical SD card holds way more. It’s a poor show of Nixplay, and I feel worse because I’ve gifted these to family members too.

The picture quality is fantastic, but setting up playlists is a bit of a pain. My favourite method is to use Google albums, which provides some dynamic flexibility.Sadly, there is no access to your LAN, and no sd card slot. DLNA is impossible, a shame. You can only access your playlists via a confusing App.

We bought one, when we powered it the first time it started having issues with the screen, with dark vertical bands appearing and moving around. We returned it and tried purchasing another one - it has the exact same issue. Poor production batch? We don't know but this is definitely not worth the cost.

The frame looked good was easy to set up and the photos looked good but it conked out after one hours use.
