It works!!!
After reading all the negative reviews, I was unsure but pulled the trigger anyways. Glad I did! It was a tight fit. Had to lightly pound the tool on, but once it was on, no problems. I used a 1" socket and driver. A few slight turns and it screwed off by hand. Worked like a charm.

works perfect, don't look at the bad reviews , i used a debonder the night before every couple of hours, than tap the socket with a rubber hammer all the way, very little force was needed.tap the socket all the way, that's the trick, super strong and works perfect.

Absolutely do not buy this!!!
This is the first product I've bought from Midwest Industries and it will definitely be the last. The whole intended purpose of this is to remove the barrel nut but there is just one problem it doesn't fit the barrel nut at all. Worst money I have ever spent on a tool.

Fits and works on CZScorpion
It works as intended. Be sure to watch everything as you fit it on and crank on the bbl nut. The newer ones seem to be a little easier to remove than the old ones. You can just find a big flat on the receiver and hold it down on a table against the flat surface and use a big ratchet to remove the nut.

It works as advertised....
Can't find the HBI wrench ANYWHERE, CZ shop has but takes a week to get.... Found this via a web search, meh, why not? My paske handguard arrived today and soon thereafter the barrel nut wrench showed up. So off I went... I read couple reviews and was kinda sketched but, whatever... Threw the scorpion in the vise and left-loose we went with a 1/2" driver... NO PROBLEM AT ALL. Came off like any other properly rockset removal process. Not too bad but definitely not easy. If you ain't got a vise? Good luck!

Worked after filing to correct size
Was too small for the barrel nut. Ended up having to file it down to fit. Once I got it to the right size it worked as it should. Buy if you want but you may need to do a little work on it.

Works fine
Took it off no issue.. GENTLY tap it on a little so you don’t strip it anything and it works.. I was hesitant after other reviews but came right off no problem with this tool..Once your done hammer the TOOL on the ground while rotating to loosen up all edges until nut comes out.. it’s simpleUse a table mounted vice and 1/2 breaker bar with this, and it’s a 2 minute process..

Its not the solution.
I love Midwest Industries, but the short answer is, this is probably not the solution you want it to be.1) The size is wrong. The flats of the Scorpion barrel nut are 20mm apart. The socket gets that correct, BUT [and this is a CRITICAL but] the overall diameter of the barrel nut is 24mm, and the inside diameter of the socket is 23.4mm. It doesn’t sound like a lot, but the socket, as is, will NOT fit. You will need to file/Dremel the inside diameter to reach 24mm so it can fit over the barrel nut.2) The socket isn’t hardened steel. This is good because it allows you to grind out the critical material to fit the nut. BUT, the Scorpion barrel nut has so much Rocksett from the factory, it takes HUNDREDS of pounds of torque to remove it [plus a chemical de-bonder and/or heat from a torch]. This socket WILL strip itself to death. Guaranteed. Be ready for that.3) The socket doesn’t have a ratchet drive. This to me was insane. This socket requires another 1” socket to drive it. Maybe this is because the socket isn’t hardened, but it should have a standard ½” drive - like every other socket this size in the world. It took me 2 days, a chemical de-bonder, torch, bench vise [absolutely critical, don’t even try without one], a 20mm opened-ended wrench, and yes, this socket to get the barrel nut off – and I still stripped the shoulders off the barrel nut and the inside of the MI socket. PLUS the open-ended wrench (because it was not a thin style, cracked the CZ handguard. Luckily, I was replacing the handguard anyway, but still. In the end, this socket (after being modified) gave me the 1/8th-of-a-turn I needed to reposition my opened-ended wrench to finish the job. By itself, it will NEVER work.MI – you must redesign this socket. Make it dimensionally correct [obviously], make it hardened/impact-tool grade and PLEASE make it 1/2 “ drive.
