Ikea Proppmatt Cutting Chopping Board Wooden Kitchen Hangs Small

I use this cutting board all of the time. It's very simple, but I just needed a small board that I could hang above the sink and use for small projects. It's easy to clean.

Very rough texture to the board. Needs some really fine sanding. Even the towel drying it left lint and pieces of fabric around the edges. Hate to admit it, but I threw it away! Shape and size were perfect for me, but couldn't deal with pieces of lint sticking all over it.

Contrary to the listing details (and the reason I purchased this board), this is not a solid birch cutting board. It's made from many different pieces which are interlocked and glued together. These types of cutting boards (bonded multipiece/laminate) have been shown to leech the glue on to your food over time with use, which poses an long-term health hazard. Also, the finish on the board is very rough—it almost seems unfinished. Lastly, there was a very off-putting smell coming off from the board. It smelled very synthetic and not something that you'd want to associate with your food. I'd recommend purchasing a high-quality solid wood cutting board instead.

Very affordable. Like another reviewer mentioned, it is very rough. I had to sand it with 80, 150 and 220 grit sandpaper before it was smooth. I then applied some raw tung oil and it's now smooth as butter!
