High performance and high quality build, fit and finish.
I tried a couple other HDMI to component converters (Musou, GANA) for an older Toshiba rear projection TV with 1080p capability and they were cheaply made, plastic, lightweight, cheap power supply, low quality. They worked but the picture had distortion at the top of screen and in 1080p high definition setting, I would get blue shadowing in the picture. I bought the Easycel and as soon as I opened the box I could tell there was a huge difference in the build quality. It is made of aluminium, had some weight to it, very nice fit and finish, quality connections and buttons...even the charger is much higher quality than the other two I tried. It connects up very easily as did the others but the picture quality of this unit is night and day compared to the other two. I was receiving perfect high quality 1080p reception with no distortion, blotching or blue shadows like the cheaper units I tried. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $8-$10 and buy this unit over the others, you'll be glad you did. You also get component cables and a HDMI cable (which the others did not include) so in reality it's not more expensive if you consider the value of the cables, especially if you need them. Works well with Roku streaming stick+, smooth streaming, great picture, full HD, no issues.

Incredibly simple Plug-N-Play, Auto Selecting Resolution, nearly Noise Free Converter!
I tried to get it all in the Title, but I have to say for the cost, this thing is a GEM. I did NOTHING except Plug it in between my source and projector, and it automatically (and instantaneously) chose the correct Aspect Ratio AND Resolution, and reproduced it at a level that makes me believe it improved the picture quality instead of making it backward compatible. On Tip, though. Be sure to keep the unit itself away from other signal and AC cables, as if it gets too close, it will pick up stray noise and translate that to a very small line of static on the screen... Isolate it and you won't have any trouble! Oh, by the way. I have had it on now (without powering down) for nearly 3 months and it still works like a champ and barely gets warm. Hope this helps, if you're reading this.

Works great, but could not stream Netflix or Prime through a Firestick, without losing signal.
I have an older 2006 Samsung LCD TV . Without this unit I could only receive over the air reception and cable connected reception. I was trying to get a Firestick to work with the TV so I could use wireless in a room without a cable connection. With this unit I was able to use the Amazon firestick with the Amazon Recast. However, when trying to load Netflix, it would only work for a short time and then I got a loss of signal error. I believe it was a streaming issue from the wireless modem and the firestick, trying to run through this unit. I had an unnamed cable service tech look at the situation and indicated it was a convertor issue. The only way I could resolve it was purchase a new TV. The problem is gone, so the cable company signal was not the problem. Just sharing my experience. It did have a great picture when it did work.

Perfect HD CRT down-scaler for video games!
I have an HD CRT (Sony Trinitron 34XBR910) that can only display 1080i, and anything lower has horrible lag. I have also have an OSSC (upscaler for retro video games) and wanted to be able to play my N64 and SNES in beautiful CRT 1080i. Unfortunately the upscaler can't de-interlace to 1080i and outputs 1080p. I was stuck until I found this solution. Hooked up an RGB modded N64 with an HD Retrovision cable to the OSSC, hooked up the OSSC to this device, connected cheap component cords from this device to the back of the TV, switched the output to 1080i and it magically worked! I tried the same thing and noticed some flickering on fast moving objects and I realized it was probably the cable I was using (I'll update when I get a male-to-male HD retrovision component cable).I received a Time Sleuth that measures lag, and I hooked up my setup mentioned earlier (in reverse basically, lot of technicalities), and I noticed there was about 14 ms of lag in 1080i (de-interlacing 1080P), which is pretty good! The CRT TV has 0 ms lag in native 1080i. So if you're looking for a de-interlacer for cheaper that adds very little lag, than this could be the right product for you.

OK for a day.
Product lasted 1 day before the highest resolution conversion split the screen so that there was a panel on the right that repeated part of what appeared on the left. Switched to a lower resolution and that went fuzzy with lines scrolling through the picture after a day.Note that this was a higher priced replacement for a similar HDMI to Component converter that lasted 2 months before is stopped working altogether. Was using this to connect an HDMI only source to component cables running through the wall to another room. After striking out twice, I bought an long HDMI cable with detachable ends so it could be pulled through the wall with one of the component cables. Works perfectly (so far). I would recommend trying to avoid these converters if at all possible.

Great reliability, terrible picture
I have another HDMI->component converter from another company, a tiny little flat one. I will compare this one to that one.Pros: this converter seems more reliable and works with more of my HDMI devices than my old tiny one. I can unplug things and plug them in and it handles that elegantly, unlike the tiny one. It also doesn't get confused or overheated and freak out like the tiny one sometimes does.Cons: this converter produces a terrible picture compared to the tiny one. The tiny one looks as good as a true HDMI input -- sharp edges and vivid color. But this converter does not! This converter produces blurry lines/text as the colors in adjacent things seem to leak into each other. It also has washed-out colors. I unfortunately can't really recommend this converter.

Excellent product, really works!
Very easy to use and reliable.Had a Xbox One and a Apple TV both outputting at 1080p, and a Sony Bravia TV which would only accept 1080i.The EASYCEL unit (1st photo) was able to take the 1080p input signal, and translate it into a 1080i output signal so it could be displayed on the Sony Bravia TV.The EASYCEL unit is able to take a range of input signals by HDMI, and output them in a different output signal by a “resolution” button. When no device is being transmitted it will show a very handy test screen, showing the input resolution, and the output resolution (2nd photo).Without this device, I would have had to display the Xbox One and Apple TV at 720p, which is not a good a resolution, because the Sony Bravia didn’t have the setting for 1080p.The EASYCEL unit was also able to handle the input coming from a HDMI splitter, which was combining the signal from the Xbox One and Apple TV on one HDMI, and the splitter was automatically selecting the output from the active device.Well worth getting.(Note: You will need a component port on your TV for the output from this EASYCEL device, otherwise you can get a component to HDMI adapter to plug the output from this device into a HDMI port on your TV).

Breathed new life into a 25 year old plasma TV
I bought this to add a Fire Stick to a pre-2000 Panasonic Veira plasma that I still use in a spare room. I was a bit skeptical as to how good this would be but I was amazed at the quality of the picture on Prime and Netflix even though the TV is pre-HD. It was easy enough to set up and it comes with all the connecting wires which is a bonus. The only thing that wasn't too clear was how the resolution button was supposed to work but I just kept pressing it to cycle through the options until I found the one that looked best.
