Worth the money
I was a mechanic 15yrs. This thing is sturdy, I installed it alone, I’m confident it’ll carry a lot of weight but life’s too short to try 1000lb <-500lb👍🏻The instructions are vague so you’ll have to figure it out to some degree.

Sweet rack and worth the $ and quiet after doing this!
purchased Jute Rope 3/4 Inch 25 Feet Twisted Hemp Rope. Wrapped it around the front bar. The twists kill the noise vortex that forms. All of $10 to fix. Super heavy duty, great rack! I love it!

Okay for the money
The media could not be loaded. This comes in two packages, but you get only one tracking number. The long pieces came one day and the hardware with the shorter pieces came the next day. There was no separate tracking provided with the second package. Frustrating because you don’t know when or if it will come. The paint will get scratched up while sliding the pieces together. Buy a can of black semigloss because you will need it for touchups. The j-bolts suck! I ended drilling into the bed of the truck and bolted it on. It’s a truck that I will keep and maintain until one of us dies, so I am not worried about resale. I want to be able to trust the rack will stay in place. The front Ross bar just rear of the cab would not align no matter how lose everything else was. I ended up drilling the existing hole out and it fit. It seems sturdy. It is a little short for my 05 Ram 2500 long bed, but it will work. My Weatherguard tool box fits on but cannot open all the way. It opens enough for me to get what I need and that’s what matters. I employed my 9yo son to organize all the bolts, nuts and washers. This is a must! With the lack of instructions, it is made easier to see the quantity of everything you have on had so Y will know where to use it.

Wow, the noise
How they can sell this thing without a fairing is beyond me. I installed this last night and have a 4 Hour drive. I’m only an hour into it and I already have a headache from the insane amount of noise. If they sold this thing with a fairing of any kind to reduce the noise, it would be so much better. If they spent an extra $.25 and made an instruction booklet that had something besides three pages of pictures this thing would’ve been a lot easier to put together as well.Nothing with labeled as to what was what for the assembly. This includes the screws, nuts, bolts washers, and actual bars. This was a nightmare to figure out what went with what. They also missed the mark for where the holes were drilled. I had to get a metal bit to drill the hole, so would lineup on two of the holes. With all the assembly problems. I would’ve been OK with as I did manage to put it together. But the biggest issue is still the noise. This ladder rack is insanely loud. If they would’ve added a faring of any kind to this product, it would have been 100 times better. As for the strength of the ladder rack. it looks very strong but I have yet to put any real weight on it. But it does look like it’ll hold it.

Good, but missing pieces and troubleshooting assembly problems.
Ordered this for work use for my dad and his machine shop. Below is his review on the all-round instructions, parts and assembly problems. The finished product is great, but if it wasn't for my dad owning and running his own machine shop, he never would have been able to fix some of the issues as well and as quickly as he did.1. The instructions were lacking a lot of information. If someone without mechanical skills is trying to assemble they would be lost.2. The parts list was missing a lot of detail. Without the "part pictures" the list was incomplete. Below I give a bit more detail.Item 12 has the wrong size. The description has it listed as M16x30 when it is actually M14x30.Item 13 lists 8 sets and should list 2 flat washers each for a total of 16 pieces.Item 14 lists that there are 4 bolts with nut and flat washers. Without the part list pictures you would not realize that only 2 get nuts and the other 2 do not. Also the 2 with nuts get 2 flat washers and all get spring washers that are not listed.Item 15 should list that each one gets 2 flat washers.Item 16 does not list that there are 2 different sizes of flat washers. 4 of the bolts get 2 each of the smaller flat washers while 4 of the bolts get 2 of each of the large diameter washers. That becomes more apparent during the assembly instructions but nowhere does it list that each bolt gets 2 washers.Item 17 does not list that there are 2 different size flat washers that go on each shoulder bolt. 1 fits over the shoulder part and the other over the threads.Item 18 does not list 2 flat washers each bolt and does not have the spring washer listed at all.Item 19 J-bolt does not work at all and was missing the spring washers. I tried every way possible to use these J-bolts and there was no way they were going to work. Being that we are a machine shop I eventually made 4 angle brackets in place of the J-bolts along with 1/2-13 bolts nuts and washers. There is not room for the J-bolt underneath the bed rail for the J-bolt to work. The average person trying to install this rack would not have succeeded or would have had a very unsafe installation. I can think of many alternative designs on the J-bolt that would have worked. The only other option would be to leave them out and provide the hardware to drill the bed rail and permanently mount the rack with the optional hole mounts. The instructions tell of the option but the hardware is not provided.

A lot of care in the packaging
Item arrived on time, after reading some of the other reviews and hearing that hardware was missing, I was very cautious when the box arrived. However, when I opened the box, there were many practices used to ensure that everything stayed in the box, reinforced ends, and and extra piece of material to ensure the product didn't slide around alot. All the hardware was there, it was well organized, and packaged in thick plastic. Also the body of the rack was wrapped in plastic and pieces that were a set were ziptied together. The hardware was excellent everything was shiny, and clean. I recommend using metric size sockets to assemble. The rack installed easily and looks amazing.
