Made no mention of making A18 look and feel like traditional look. If you do it's much easier to use. Many typos even though it's been issued several years. Only lists one way to accomplish some tasks although there are many more than one.

Extremely helpful for some one new like me. Definitely a need for beginners.

I hate that the 2017 edition is the same book as the 2016 edition. It just differs on the title. They just "searched and replaced" the 2016 for the 2018.

First off, this is a great text book. AutoCAD is huge and trying to find your way around as a beginner is tough. Looking at videos is good when you want to learn how complete a specific task, but often assumes you know what each icon means, or know the jargon etc. Also, looking at videos from many different sources doesn't give you the structure needed to know how all the functions & features fit together and see the product as a whole.This book changes that......it takes you from the very beginning, shows you the icons, menus, features & functions and explains concisely what they are, what they do & how to do it. It explains the jargon and as you read through the book you begin to see how everything works together. One section I particularly liked was the Command reference table....AutoCAD constantly refer to using the command line but it assumes you know what the commands are....well this book lists them in one place. Another strength of this book is, having explained something, it gives you exercises to try at the end of each section to reinforce your learning there and then.This is a great book, assumes no knowledge, is very comprehensive and excellent value. No filler or fluff like some other textbooks, just lots of solid information clearly set out and explained. And as you've probably already guessed, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
