The usb sd card readers also heat up a ton because they have to do some logic to read the data on the card, whereas this adapter doesn't have to do any "work"...so it doesn't heat up at all. No danger of melting the sd card or burning your hands. To the people who rated this low because they thought it was am actual sd card..really? It clearly states it's an adapter in the title, plus it's about half the price of an sd card. I think those ratings should be taken down, as they do not help rate the actual product.
